MP’s Make No Deal Harder by Backing Grieve’s Amendment – Brexit Explained
Prorogation Explained: https://youtu.be/OpvMud16gC8
Marriage & Abortion in NI: https://youtu.be/B5Wz0MWE_oE
A number of MPs (likely a majority) continue to oppose No Deal Brexit, with Dominic Grieve leading the charge on Tuesday night. His amendments were designed to make prorogation more difficult, therefore making it harder for the next Prime Minister to force a no deal Brexit through the House of Commons.

So in this video, we discuss the new powers the government has, why some people are angry about them and whether we really are getting a bit 1984.

Can someone explain to me why the MPs are wasting time voting on No Deal. Its not like they UK can go to the EU and say yeah we voted not to exit without a deal but we cant agree on a deal so yeah …
@MaestroAlvis
January 1, 2024 at 9:08 pm
That feel when you remember other first world countries have had the unity to simply vote and legalize gay marriage and abortion. I mean I'm sure it's an uphill battle but I only recently gained strong opinions about "legislating from the bench" (no idea if that's a thing in the UK).
@Tomartyr
January 1, 2024 at 9:08 pm
So now that parliament has conclusively agreed that it won't make a decision it's now making sure no one else can make that decision for it.

Our continent has gone from constant wars to not only a lasting peace but a cooperation the rest of the world is in awe of. Having almost 30 countries with different idiosyncrasies and interests cooperate so deeply is such a difficult and unique achievement that the EU could be considered a new wonder of the world. We have the most prosperous trade, the deepest political cooperation, and the broadest diplomatic solidarity in the world. We show the world's nationalists that countries are truly stronger together rather than isolated alone. Then the UK falls victim of right-wing populism and leaves. It's a truly sad tragedy. Shakespear could not have written it any sadder.
