The metal tray thing could be useful, because I have a habit of forgetting to get some meat out of the freezer in enough time to defrost, and I don't really like defrosting in the microwave. The pizza oven thing could be great but would mean you can only cook one pizza at a time, and if you have friends round you don't necessarily want to have to be keeping an eye on how ever many pizzas you're cooking, you just want to be able to chill. That's my view anyway…

Is the food that is defrosted safe yo cook and eat afterwards?

I have a defrosting tray. I bought it many years ago and it works really well.

I love that even still in June 2023 the chefs haven’t changed a bit and still hate the pointless toot they’re reviewing, critique products that have a single function use and have remained consistent in the fact that they test each gadget and point out how useless it is because the same procedure can be completed with average kitchen utensils and therefore indicating how useless the gadgets are and buying them is a total waste of money because they serve no additional purpose or cannot even accomplish the function designed to do 😂😂 to this day the best gadget they’ve reviewed has to be the coconut shaver for the fact that James cowered behind the normals whilst Ebbers went gung-ho just for them to call it useless because a spoon would give the same result 😂😂

I think Barry and Jamie are completely befuddled that the chefs liked all the gadgets!

    *sniff sniff* its been used….

The pizza oven is awesome, but it’s for homemade dough. Frozen pizza won’t make any difference.

My mother in law gave me that same mandolin chopper and it was complete garbage.

  9. @niallsheridan3704

Tray and mandolin yes! The rest useless!!

Yea I knew what the defroster tray was! But a decade or more ago it was all over TV commercials in the United St

I have a slightly heavier version of the defroster plate (not so bendy?) and it works a treat. Absolutely love it.

    “It’s alright it’s GRATE”

A regular cast iron pan does the same thing as the defroster device. A cast iron pizza pan does it the best because it has the most cast iron to absorb the cold of the frozen meat.

its funny..1 gadget was always one sold by them..ez to spot after a while

  15. @cashencreek2

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Put it to the test fellas

  16. @Emeraldwitch30

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Just use a cast iron pan or thick stainless steel pan to thaw your meats quickly. Turn upside down set the meat on top also if you use another pan right side up on the other side of the steak or meat thawing it thaws quicker.
It just pulls the cold away lol.
I have cast iron griddle on my stove. I often put my frozen stuff on it (in their vacuum bags from freezer) then set my cast iron pan on it. Usually takes about 15 minutes for chicken and about 20 or so for steak-beef or pork. I've used my big stainless steel pan either its aluminum plate bottom too.
A friend of mine used to be a science teacher and explained why this works but basically its wicking away the cold by absorbing it into the metal.

Ben using the cheese grader, "It's Great." Made me lol

  18. @JoannaHammond

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

The defroster is not useless, it's dangerous.

  19. @lewiskelly14

    Stupid video

  20. @Ireneharnack1138

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I find those all in one mandolin & etc. Are great to use if making an Enchilada casserole or several of them, which requires a ton of onions & cheddar cheese.

    Shameless comment fishing 🎣 😂

I wonder what happened to Barry because he is not like this anymore. He's much more subdued

  29. @BenStroudsings

I bought the defrosting tray and it’s sooo goood. Does exactly what you want it to. Incredible

  30. @DeltaDemon1

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Back in the 80s, they sold a defrosting thingy similar to what's presented here. The difference is that it was a thick block of ridged metal. I tried it once and it seemed to work.

  31. @DaddyKratosOfTheShire

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Cook the shit out of it

  32. @lizzie5367

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I have had a defroster platter for nearly thirty years and love it on days when I am scatter brain and forget to put protein out to defrost in fridge.

  33. @iainronald4217

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

That pizza oven saying it can do frozen pizzas is the same as all of us telling prospective employers we know Excel; it’s a white lie that they want to hear and you never expect to get tested on it.

  34. @charlx8979

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Im a bit tempted by that all in one mandolin, about as expensive as my basic one function mandolin

  35. @michellevietor8185

    December 31, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I have that green mandolin. It's not great for everything it says, but it's better than trying to evenly slice 5 lbs of tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, or onions.
