Testing the Most Hi-Tech Toaster on the Market

Published

on

Today Jamie and Baz put the Hi-Tech Revolution Toaster to the ULTIMATE test. Retailing at over £350, can this toaster be worth the huge price tag??

(Not an affiliate link) Check Out the Revolution Toaster here: https://revcook.com/

As a note, we were using a US model toaster in the UK through a voltage transformer… Revolution have been in touch to say this might have affected the performance we experienced. If a UK model ever comes to market, hopefully we can get our hands on one and give it a go too!

Pile of rubbish…typical US marketing hype versus the reality. I would spend £350 on a toaster, but not that R1 rubbish.

Imagine putting Warburton bread in it! It. Would be half in half out 👎🏻

I like how you continued to test it, even though it was absolute, total garbage from test to test to test.

    Absolute garbage.

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I wanted to see this thing at max power, just to see how quickly it set fire to the bread inside.

  5. @KhanggiTanka

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

for 350 you'd expect the entire slice of bread being toasted, what a failure of a product

SO SOMEONE put There pocket Calculator date cataloger on a toaster

To clear up some misconception, a product that runs on a preprogrammed algorithm without any sort of sensors and requires the user to input the bread type and temperature is not smart whatsoever neither should it be worth $400 . Without the touch screen and UI it works the same as the presets on a $50 microwave. Would you call your microwave smart or high tech lol.

That thing is a piece of garbage…welp, more e-waste. Great, well done "Revolution"… 😢

  11. @barcham

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I paid about $30 CANADIAN for my toaster and it makes better toast than that thing does because it toasts my bread edge to edge. My toast is done by the time my eggs are cooked and I can't ask for more than that.

  12. @jacobjones1849

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

The toaster numbers(1-10) mean something. First my credentials, as maybe the first person in Tennessee to EVER go to college, i am a federal bust inspector, and have been inspecting toasters for years.
The numbers 1-10 are the degree your toast is, the difference is, the 1-10 is Celsius. It was made for Europeans to understand, yet Europeans have no brain so the numbers have been lost forever

The Mitsubishi toaster is still the best 😂

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

For that price they should have paid a graphic designer to make the UI look not like a website from the 90s.

  15. @allanpeter7700

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

    Probably should absolutely be returned.

More e-waste. Brilliant. This is up there with that dumbass bacon saddle from a while back that Ebbers just about had a coronary over.

What a load of old cock; I heat a small, non-stick pan on a back element, put in a slice of bread then put a 3 ounce rectangular weight on it and use my nose. Flip the bread, wait for 1 minute then shut the heat off (electric stove elements) and BINGO.

Ive seen this toster reviewed by freaking reviews and his was good im not sure if you got a defective product or user error

  20. @wizardlevel1515

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

If I spent 400 dollars on a toaster I would be incensed at how inconstant that was. That you had small pieces in there and it somehow managed to blacken part while not even browning other parts at all is insane to me. I don't know what kind of algorithm they are using, but medium brown should not equal black for some products and white for others when you select the correct product. I'm glad it makes really nice toast when it works properly, but if I pay that much I had better be able select the product I'm putting in and the brownness I want and expect perfect consistent results every single time.

    In short, it's complete garbage.

  21. @radamentro

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

    350$? HELL NO! 50$? Maybe….

  22. @rubyseverinwhitworth9066

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I'm sorry did they call a crumpet an English muffin? If I saw that right its already a no from me. This isn't even a "your not saying the proper" word thing, your striping people of the ability to say one of the best words. Crumpit, amazing mouth feel

  23. @Omikoshi78

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I need a toaster that doesn’t leave the top edge untoasted.

  24. @Mark-nh2hs

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

Forget toasters lol I hate them as they never fully toast the bread I'm a hot grill man perfect full golden toast both sides 😂

  25. @HogwartsGoth

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I would love to see how much electric these £300/£350 new toasters use next to a £20/£25 toaster.

  26. @hypo7351

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I think the reason it had some uneven toasting was possibly a combination of the open top nature of the product plus the waffle having holes in it caused more hot air to escape which led to the bottom having crisp it is “intended” to have while the top had less

  27. @kristie1584

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

    Nope

  28. @TheSonicsean

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

10:58 I've had multiple like $20 toasters that have a bagel button where it only turns on the inside coils. That's not a new thing.

  29. @jaycorbin

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I looked at the revolution toaster since it’s really the only one in the US that isn’t the exact same as one from 1940, but clearly this is an absolute fail in every way.

  30. @JacobthePoshPotato

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

Wow, the manufactorers cheaped out in all the worst ways.

  31. @sikuG

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

The lack of a plate for the slices of toast triggered me so bad😅

  32. @obiwankenobi4694

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

Sage 4 slice smart toaster can do better toast than this with a little bit of manual intervention and it browns a Warburtons Toastie edge to edge for half the price (1/4 if you have to buy 2 x 2 slice Revolutions) …simply preheat for a minute then pop your bread in and when you see it starting to turn brown press crumpet setting and keep your eye out for a little smoke … press quick look and flip bread over then after a few seconds it will be smoking again and ready to butter. Works best with thick fresh bread 😊

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I wonder if there’s a difference between the EU and the US versions because I’ve had this for 3 years and it perfect to the images of toast levels. I’m in the US.

  35. @gosthunter39

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

As someone who loves breaded sandwiches and toast“bread makes you fat?” Scott Pilgrim. I would not pay £350 for a piece of technology that gets it wrong.

  36. @johnnycliche4226

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

This just reinforces how good that Japanese one was that you reviewed back in the day…I fully agree that the heating elements should go into a manual style toaster that works faster and is manually adjustable…

  37. @mukkaar

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I mean, this is just fast toaster, with unnecessary screen. Much more useful would be just some simple timer and temperature adjustment if you want to actually tune in your toaster for some reason. Overall, if you actually want good toaster, use your pan or oven grill setting. If you just want easy toast, regular one will do just fine.

  38. @dschepeis230

"Revolution have been in touch to say this might have affected the performance we experienced".

    Press X to doubt.

  39. @puplaksis

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

4-slice toaster just has half-power per slice due to what wall socket can feed it…. No wonder it heats in double time.

  40. @kristeneL

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

If I paid that for a toaster, it better spit it on the plate and butter it for me 😂

  41. @robertfoerster566

    I can't believe it's burning things!

  43. @ryleighs9575

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

Re: Bagel setting. All toasters have that lol.

    Edit: Thank you, Barry lol

    December 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

they have standarized size for slice bread and ham for sandwiches in america/mexico. Thats why they never fit European markets
