Had to throw in, like San Francisco is not the best recommendation for anything.

I love dark chocolate, its definately better to leave it to just melt on your tongue than chew it ❤ x
An u could add a thin layer of almond or peanut butter on that biscuit base before the caramel to change it up a bit ❤ x

Things like fair trade etc worry me a bit. Yes OK either way it makes sure the farmers get a better price but is it really fair or does it mean we can feel better whilst some chocolate makers get to use a title and still pay only a fixed price no matter what went in to growing it. The Dutch chocolate is a prime example.

Very interesting. Probably not interested in foraging.

"Organic" is such a cash grab word. It doesn't mean anything. Opium is organic and that doesnt mean its good for you

  7. @cammo353

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

It's a damn shame that Bokksu only works with USD cause I really do want to try these snacks but I cannot justify the converted $73.80 per month for it where I live

  8. @not2shabby

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I had been subscribed to Bokksu for a year and change (and only stopped due to a change in diet). I can confirm that, if you can justify the $40 price tag ($50 in Canada) per month, the quality of snacks is fantastic, as is the information surrounding their creation.

3:15 I have been receiving Bokksu for a year, now. I have recently renewed the subscription. For me, it is about presently living a small, sad, boring, and impoverished life. I truly look forward to them, and use them as a means of enrichment. Also, the Japanese grocers in houston simply do not carry the same items. Some similar, but nowhere near the fascinating variety.🤗🤗🤗💋💋🇺🇸🌸

    Wow! All great subscriptions.

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I don't approve of companies foraging wild foods and then selling it on. Especially if they take too much and then others, such as locals cant.

  12. @ethancampbell215

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

One thing I wish these monthly subscription companies could offer is a one off purchase of a box with a smaller variety of the goods they offer, it would be too much hassle to subscribe and then cancel the subscription but I’d like to be able to try some of the things that these boxes offer, but as a one-off rather than being a monthly commitment

  13. @ethancampbell215

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

This channel is amazing for so many reasons, but I think the best thing about the guys, and James before he deserted them to get a ‘real job’, is that they recognise how lucky they are to be in a position to be able to do what they do, and it’s so wholesome to see a group of good friends do a job they love and stay grounded when many people who experience any amount of success become big headed, and these guys are the polar opposite of that

  14. @andyszlamp2212

Glad to see Grenada represented here 🇬🇩 ❤ Amazing chocolate 🍫

  17. @ratkinantics

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I've eaten the Grenada chocolate and the chocolate nibs fresh at the plantation. I can highly recommend.

  18. @Ireneharnack1138

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

The circular one is usually used for making Mexican Hot Chocolate, it's not usually eaten straight.

  19. @patmaurer8541

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I'd try the sloe blossom syrup anywhere in place of rose water: in glazes or icing, whipped cream, fruit salad, sorbets. Maybe instead of vanilla in a delicate cookie? 🙂

  20. @MichaelJohnson-vi6eh

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

i think i might have a chocolate tasting with fair trade . ive never had a chocolate themed social event.

  21. @villeda009

Taza is great for hot chocolate

  22. @MegSong24

oh man, i can't believe sorted got to try taza chocolate. it's a local company in my area, and their chocolates are pretty excellent!

  24. @ErrePi89

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

Honestly, going foraging with Ben seems like a really fun time.

  25. @jf76

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

Great kit recommendations. The foraging kit seemed really interesting to me especially. I love the idea of foraging sometimes do but avoid things like wild mushrooms which are risky or random leaves and berries… and so would love experts to send me sustainable things that are informative and safe. I do love to find wild garlic and there are magnificent crab apple trees near me that make fantastic jelly (some of those trees produce tastier apples than others – I am lucky). Even young dandelion leaves well washed and blanched are delicious. I have always wanted to forage for clams at low tide – spaghetti vongole is so good.

  26. @ComanderCool909

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I'm never buying cheap chocolate again, that was the most convincing argument for pricey, fairtrade (or better) chocolate and there wasnt even any tugging the heart strings… just "this is the best chocolate, and if you pay more, it gives back to the community, and its THAT good".

  27. @MrZantkiller

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

    "$40 a month. About £30."
Ahhh the good times of…*Checks video date*…a little over a year ago.

Cinnamon is right! Mike totally deserves a spice badge. He routinely proves his superior spice recognition. He was totally robbed in the first Spiceology challenge! I'm still not over it. lol #justice4huttlestone

Hey! I just now noticed that there was one more bar in Barry's (no pun intended) chocobox! The bar with the bright pink wrapper with 'pure liefde' (pure love) and the cupid on it! What happened to that bar?!

  37. @scottishboy112

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I today just got my first box from the Cocoa Runners and I’ll say, I’m pleasantly surprised.
I picked to receive both milk and dark chocolate and 2/3 dark ones I got were actually quite nice despite me not being too big on dark chocolate. One was especially fruity and the other had a hint of fruit and not nearly as bitter.

The last dark chocolate one was a fair bit more bitter and not for me, still 3/4 being ones I liked, definitely good for my first time!
Do not regret it at all!

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

I've visited the Grenada chocolate company and tasted the chocolate nibs there. I highly recommend them. I did buy 4 bars but none lasted long enough to make the journey home 😀

  44. @princ3sstofu

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

The chocolate one is honestly worth it. If you get 5 bars/ month for that price, it comes down to £4.6/ bar and I would pay good money for a decent bar of chocolate.

  45. @AlKohaiMusic

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

i'd love to know, almost a year on, if any of the lads did subscribe/ are still subscribed to any of these! An update of sorts! As someone who finds it hard to commit to spending a set price every month, I feel like I can say I would be happy to pay the prices in this video for such good quality boxes!

  49. @Smallpotato1965

    December 29, 2023 at 6:37 pm

Tony Chocolonely, the brand that fights slavery in the cocoa world, can be bought in UK supermarkets for four pounds per (huge) bar. Don't give me that 'you have to travel the world to get ethically sourced choccies' crap, guys!
