At last we have a govt who is getting tough with our immigration system which has allowed those to commit treadon and harm ti others. If they can be deported quickly and stripped off their citizenship straight away the better.

The stupid thing is that almost all legitimate routes of asylum to the uk were already closed, that's why tgere wet so many crossing in areas it is considered illegal to do so such as coming over the channel in boats, having our borders 'closed' won't make a difference as they were virtually closed in the first place which cause the so called problem of illegal immigration in the first place, at then end of the day they're using the lives of peoepel as a distraction

You guys should cover the new clause in the immigration bill proposed by Priti Patel. It gives the UK the right to revoke someone’s citizenship if they have reason to believe you could attain citizenship in another country. This effects 100s of thousands of people who have spent nearly their entire lives here or were even born here. This totally cuts society into tiers. The discretion to which they can use to revoke your citizenship is super vague – something about “national interest”. This essentially means that uk citizenship means something different between people of different backgrounds; in effect the whites and the none-whites. Precedent for this was set via begum, a total knee jerk reaction by the government based on populism; you can’t pawn off your own citizens to another country when they become problematic; it’s a dangerous denial of responsibility for a country’s own nationals. It makes the uk into a place you have to earn your right to be a part of, not a homeland – which it is if you are granted citizenship. And again, it creates a double standard because this will only effect ethnic minorities. All of this spear headed by Priti Patel who feels like she’s seceded from the heritage she was bred from, sucks up to the white people of the Tory party, and creates legislation that disadvantages her own people of which she has disavowed herself from.

You need to cover the latest amendments. They are truly on another level. They make all brown people at risk at loosing their citizenship essentially

  9. @Blind_Smithy

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

its pretty simple, we shouldnt accept any asylum seekers who travel throughs safe countries

  10. @zenfox1979

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

this bill will save migrants lives and many thousands of pounds by not giving it to the smugglers for their dingys.
Once they know they cant apply for asylum on UK shores they wont attempt the journey hence saving their lives.

  11. @dianamincher6479

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

According to 1951 Refugee convention and 1967 Protocol says no refoulement of refugees. (no turnaround) The Borders bill is repugnant to the provisions of 1951 Refugee convention and the 1967 Protocol. (no limitations for refugees)

  12. @rabbie200

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

We are an island, with pressures on all of our housing, nhs, transport etc. So we need to deter this illegal flow of migrants.

  13. @KiwiGraggle

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Is it true that this person will be given the power to remove anyone's citizenship?, without even informing them?. That is scary power and concerning.

Question: When is it time that all the Brits living in EU countries are returning back to the UK? I'd say NOW! They also are "immigrants" or "EXPATS"!

  18. @antoniokasto4293

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Quite rightly so !! The Uk had been used as a dumping ground for years France turns a blind eye to get rid of the asylum seekers

  19. @mitchio86

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

I realise that the EU is a horrible place, but I still think we should send the migrants back there.

  22. @rafaelmartucci1510

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Fake news, dublin agrement never worked, france, almost never took migrants, its just better send them directly to their countries or to the center in africa

  23. @tex2344

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Flood the channel with tow boats and send them back !

  24. @evanogrady538

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Wasn't the whole point of Brexit to be able to undermine basic human rights in legislation in order to produce cheaper, poorer quality and or more damaging to the environment products. So this bill shouldn't be too surprising .

  25. @deepankurnayantara

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

isnt Patel literally an immigrant herself?

  26. @davidjma7226

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

If UK law insists they have be present in the UK to make an asylum application, then change that law! It is encouraging illegal smugglers! Tell them to make their application offshore!

  27. @youfsl0072

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Well after Brexit, British has withdrawn from the power to send back the illegal immigrant to the European countries they pass through, but what gives the power to other European countries send those illegal immigrants to UK without processing their original claim. Dosent it brakes international laws by other European countries while they send those refugees towards UK without processing their claim !!!

  28. @billjane5522

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

You have no right to Asylum if you have come from France?

  29. @danielpetit2186

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Enough of the BS mate! These are 'not' asylum seekers, these are 'economic migrants', 98% young males, who can afford to fork out between 5 to 10 thousand Euros for a boat ride to enter Britain illegally.

  30. @nikhtose

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Stop with the “asylum-seekers” lie! They already have asylum in France! These are economic migrants, illegally jumping the cue, so should be turned back. Period.

  31. @Litany_of_Fury

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Funny you show a picture of migrants coming from wartorn nations and just appear in the english channel… they come from France.

  32. @Litany_of_Fury

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

When mentioning how many people come to the UK every year it should be mentioned how many leave.

  33. @shahannaseer5516

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

I worked in a Immigration law firm over 20 years ago for 5 years and had a backlog there . UK is seen as easy touch to arrive into . Solution is Asylum centres at British embassy out country so if in France or portugal and try claim there . However they be told claim in first safe country eg France /portugal . Lot of these claimants are economic immigrants not asylum seekers flewing because there life is in danger because of Political involvement /Religious believe or sexuality . The system been abused for last 30 years . Lawyers and system is aiding it not working properly . The amount lies here in Immigrations Interviews is shocking . Take out UK and make system like Australia or other country were harder . I have worked with Asylum seekers and alot were not real asylum seekers but Economic immigrants .

  34. @rvanzo925

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

Should’ve done that a long time ago, and send the ones that are already here back through the English Channel. Immigration has a proper process.

  35. @guillemgarcia8021

    December 28, 2023 at 8:32 am

English always bragged about being the best deal makers. Although humiliating, the best deal now would be to apologyze to EU and get back in.
