Not gonna lie, if I saw a beautiful dish like Barry's ruined with coriander I would be absolutely pissed. I hate coriander (or cilantro as we call it in the US), it tastes like soap. Only something like 30% of people can taste the soapy bits in it, everybody else can only taste the decent parts of it. I just happen to be one of the lucky third. But the soapy part is so damn strong that a single coriander leaf ruined an entire quesadilla for me one time before I knew to pick it out, after that I learned what it was and began a crusade against cilantro 😂

In chinese we have a proverb: to add legs while drawing a snake. The meaning is to try to add on in the hopes of making something that is already complete/perfect, better. As a singaporean, thats the first thing i thought of when i saw the cucumbers ribbon dressing and coriander oil. In the end they summed it well, less is really more

Uncle Roger Fails. Yellow noodles are never used in Laksa. Curry Noodles, yes. But not real, authentic Sarawak Laksa, which is the only Laksa that counts. All else are noodles in soup.
