Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

I've read somewhere men are massively over-represented in high IQ societies. Could this be an effect of male brain synchronisation rather than a scaling effect of the smaller average female brain?

This sounds suspiciously like Rupert Sheldrake’s 1981 theory of morphic resonance. Essentially, some humans, in line with many animals, can access a form of shared consciousness and thus utilise the experience of other humans subconsciously. I think these people were called “Savants” in Victorian times.

Sometimes a good leader helps especially in a group of individuals regardless of gender or IQ.. The Common sense factor is also a necessity especially when the shit hits the fan.

Very interesting. Especially the part that highlights how important females are for the functioning of a group of people.
I don' t mean to make an anti-man statement. Although that can be hard.
But in my life, 38 years worth of experience, observation and learning, i noticed some things.
I' ll try to limit it too two things too keep it short.
First of all, i am not smart. I just know some things.
Second, most teachers, doctors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, (and a growing number of police officers and soldiers), the people that teach, care, help and protect… are women.
(In my country at least.)
Now we can' t all be females loving females, we need males too. But it sure would be nice if young boys were tought more often to listen.
And i' ve lived in both worlds. I do not miss the environment where it was mostly about competition, agression, dominance… i prefer communication, kindness, compassion…
Now i' m surrounded by sisters and i do feel like our brains synchronize when we are spending time together. Curiously, i am not even a group person, i spend almost all of my time alone. But place me in a circle of friendly, open minded people and i will get in your head and you into mine.
I do not like our species in general but i ❤ that experience.

This is Lysenkoism employed for Progressive purposes. Why? According to this obvious nonsense if you put 20 people(with the perfect gender ratio) with IQ of 100 in a room they will solve a problem faster than a Physicist working alone? 😆
The irony of course that the lions share of technological progress(as in epoch changing ideas) are usually produced by brilliant geniuses, granted sometimes they’re working in teams of other geniuses. Manhattan project for example , even then it took exceptional creative genius above all the others(Von Neumann) to solve a crucial puzzle.
Egalitarian societies cannot brook the fact some are born with the “right stuff” and the vast majority are not.

This is what we call "Lysenkoism" – or ideologically motivated pseudoscience. How can "collective intelligence" be based on anything but the sum of each individual intelligence? Imagine this:
100 + 100 + 100 = 300. BBC is basically saying something along the lines that 80 + 80 + 80 can still equal 300. Individual intelligence is "collective" intelligence, period.
Also, notice the tropes: "collective intelligence", "gender ratio", "cultural stereotypes"(the nature vs nurture debate is still going on, but everyone involved acknowledges both factors are important).
Who are these people who made these alleged breakthroughs in neuroengineering? Any names? Mind actually describing the methodology of these experiments please?
Why would I want to have my own emotions, memories, and thoughts liable to be hacked by someone and used as blackmail? Will authorities require all thoughts be publicly available to catch potential terrorists and criminals "for your own safety"? When people inevitably start using this telepathy to send things like porn and bomb-making instructions to each other, are police going to literally arrest people for thoughtcrime?
Do not believe any of this horrific propaganda.
