Partygate, the scandal that broke back in December, shows no signs of slowing down as we approach the end of January. In fact, it might be getting worse. So in this video, we’ll take a look at the accusations of blackmail and Islamophobia, Johnson’s alleged birthday party, and the Met Police chief launching an investigation.

    CORRECTIONS:
At 6:00, we say that the police investigation will delay the Sue Gray report. While this was expected at time of writing, the Met Police have since made clear that they don't expect their investigation to interfere with the Sue Gray report.
We also implied that the Christian Wakeford allegations came before William Wragg's announcement to the select committee. Wakeford's allegations in fact came a few hours after Wragg's announcement.
Finally, we accidentally called Nadim Zahawi the vaccines minister, when he is now the education minister.

Apologies – as you might have guessed, this script was written in a bit of a rush – and we hope to do better next time!

As an outsider it looks more and more like a spanish soap opera… still waiting for the moment he discovers that the speaker of the house is his father…

Any decent person would have resigned weeks ago. It’s a shame that the UK has been brought this low, to be led by someone this despicable.

I saw a suggestion on-line that the Gray report might have uncovered drug use at the parties. This would explain the Met decision to get involved, also as these offences could not be dealt with by issuing fixed penalties jury trials might have to follow. For me this makes more sense than a Met policy cover up
as bits of the report referencing drug use could certainly prejudice a future trial by jury. I would be interested to know if anyone else has seen or heard anything along these lines.

In a real country, this scandal would have results.
In the UK, which is just a joke of a country, this shit just gets tolerated. Every time. Always.

The met police are bloody useless too. Trying to get out of doing their f*cking job then only picking up 8 out of 17 cases. The police aren't going to find or do shit, if boris is still in power a year from now that's blatent proof the government is corrupt af and I'm leaving the country I'm legit considered migrating abroad this country is going down quick.

What I or anybody else thinks is irrelevant. I just sincerely hope that he gets punished to the full so that the electorate have to have the realization that they've been lied to and treated like idiots since the beginning of the Cameron government. We've allowed our European privileges to be thrown away and be replaced with hardship, and this Corona debacle has pushed that into the background. Cynically, I see all this as an establishment pan. I could go on.

This is a weird thing to consider, but when Boris goes, and a replacement is sworn in, that'll be the 15th UK prime minister the Queen as reigned over! That's pretty impressive, especially as 2 of those were PM for over 10 years!

I'm hella tired of all this concern over idiotic scandals. As long as the economy improves and everything in the commonwealth goes smoothly, who the eff cares?…Neckbeards???

  30. @_____alyptic

    December 26, 2023 at 9:38 am

Ngl it feels like they'll get away with it, so many scandals in the past not including these ones have just disappeared because of Boris saying "Let's get on with the job"

It's wild how the Conservatives are often said to still be a better option even with all of the chaos dating back to David Cameron.
