Ukraine regains more territory from Russia – BBC News
Ukrainian forces have liberated a key village in the southern region of Kherson, forcing another Russian military retreat.
The defence ministry in Kyiv posted a video showing troops raising a Ukrainian flag above Davydiv Brid, amid reports of several other nearby villages being recaptured.
Russian forces have already been forced to retreat in Ukraine’s north-east. They are now being pushed back in the south as well.

Floods have hit Australia’s largest city Sydney for the third time this year prompting evacuation warnings to 50,000 people.
Parts of Sydney have received about eight months of rain in four days.
Roads have been cut off, some houses are under water and thousands have been left without power.
Widespread flooding across Australia – driven by a La Niña weather pattern – has killed more than 20 people this year, many in New South Wales.

Saudia Arabia vows ‘serious response’ to Houthi attacks and other stories | Global News Podcast
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have continued to fire missiles towards Saudi Arabia, after a number of deadly attacks on Riyadh’s main international airport.
Almost all flights to and from the airport have been suspended. The Houthis say their actions are in retaliation for “brutal Saudi aggression” against areas they control in western Yemen.
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman told a conference in Riyadh that the seriousness of the attacks required an equally serious response from the Kingdom.

BIDEN's administration pushed Ukraine into Russia's hands due to its mistaken belief that America's power was unlimited, said Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon.
In an article written for The American Conservative, he added in a rich context:
"Politicians in Washington are ready to commit any crime if it is done in the name of destroying Russia."
McGregor describes Ukraine's prospects of ever regaining its lost territories as "bleak" and reiterates that its future is now in Russia's hands.
"If Washington were morally responsible and practical, it would explain to Kiev that it must stop the bloodshed and conclude the maximum possible peace with Moscow." "Unfortunately, for the United States, such a solution is unthinkable," emphasizes McGregor.
He believes that the regime in Kiev will resist as long as the White House helps Ukraine with money, weapons and military equipment, and that the ruling political class of America will get rich on this.
"Washington, its NATO allies and the Ukrainians will gain nothing strategic, and Russia will most likely become stronger." The US will regret this," McGregor concluded.
