Two American hostages freed by Hamas – BBC News

Published

on

Hamas has released two American hostages who were abducted during the Palestinian group’s deadly raid on Israel.

Israel confirmed that mother and daughter Judith and Natalie Raanan had been handed over to them from Hamas at the Gaza border.

It follows a visit to Israel by the US President Joe Biden.

Hamas said the pair were freed for “humanitarian reasons”.

They were the first captives released since the gunmen raided Israel on 7 October, killing 1,400 people and taking around 200 hostages.

More than 4,000 people have since been killed in Israeli air and artillery strikes in Gaza, according to Palestinian officials.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Jeremy Bowen in Jerusalem and Sarah Smith in Washington.

Can we know about the Palestinians freed from Israel prisons? Why and how they were caught and how much they suffered? If BBC unable to showcase their stories I might believe only some lives matter to BBC!

False narrative: The Israeli army is the one who placed these weapons
An important question: Is this a military base? It is a clear lie. Where are the hostages, where are the Qassam fighters, where are the tunnels? Israel’s story has been exposed. The apartheid army is Nazi and immoral.

Dummy Americans think diplomacy did it..Hamas announced from the beginning that they would release all foreigners and civilians (not just two)..And they're not part of the game or the pressure card…What prevents them from coming out is the non-stop bombing that can't secure their exit…This is documented by video and Hamas official statements

The idiot who says this is because of Hamas should go back to history and read that the land of Palestine was occupied by Israel. Israel killed and displaced the original Palestinian owners and demolished their homes. What happened on October 7 is the result of Israel’s terrorist actions.

The Western media and now some Muslim countries want to make the Israeli oppression & colonization of the Palestinian people ethically negligible, politically normative, passively acceptable and the default status quo.

We must do everything we can to stop this from happening. Teach your family, friends and those within your circle of influence:

    1) How Jews were originally welcomed into Palestine as refugees in the 1940s, and then via the UN were allowed to forcibly remove Palestinians from their homes, then eventually started to kill them indiscriminately and take over their land. This led to massacres like the Nakba and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians becoming refugees and settling in surrounding countries like Egypt, Syria & Lebanon.

    2) In the past few decades is the history of how Israel has been gradually taking over the West Bank, violating international treaties in doing so, and making daily life a living hell of apartheid and abuse for West Bank Palestinians. Then of Gaza – how it has been made into a literal prison city and bombed from time to time under the false excuse of 'security'.

    3) What has been happening in Israel/West Bank in the past few years in terms of extrajudicial killings of protesting Palestinians, the harassment & violent abuse of worshippers in Al-Aqsa every Ramadan, anti-Arab policies in government & politics, and an overall far-right attitude towards non-Jews in Israel.

    4) The countless Palestinians who have been forcibly removed from their ancestral homes, villages and lands these past few decades, with their homes and farmland taken over by Israeli settlers. Settlers have been consistently supported by the Israeli army in their abuse of settlers.

    5) Then there are the tens of thousands of Palestinians in prisons – from men, women and children – sometimes for decades – sometimes taken for no reason or for as little as talking back to an Israeli officer.

    6) How any attempt to find a non-violent, political solution has been repeatedly shut down by the USA in the UN Security Council, or accords/agreements violated by Israel in its constant and consistent acts of colonialist encroachment & aggression. Palestinians have tried the non-violent route, and their concerns have been neglected repeatedly.

    7) How this is NOT about anti-Semitism. Muslims have always had good relations with Jews, unlike European Christians who have historically committed repeated acts of genocide against them (not just in WW2). Jewish scholarship flourished in Al-Andalus, Murad II rescued thousands of Jews from the Spanish Inquistion and resettled them in Constantinople, and Maimonedes was a guest in the entourage of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi. It's only Israeli oppression that we are against, not Judaism, whose beliefs are much closer to ours than Christians.

After all this… it is irrational and ridiculous to expect anyone to sit by and live in humiliation in oppression. It is natural & praiseworthy for people to fight back to reclaim their rights and human dignity.

While the Palestinian prisoner suffers from medical neglect and psychological and physical violence in the Shin Bet, Mossad, army prisons, and the Israeli Prison Service due to the apartheid regime, it appears that these two prisoners, one of whom was born in 1932, are receiving health care and psychological stability. From the Palestinians.

They tried with your MI-6 agent Navalny! But because he couldn't, they even poisoned him! Biting the ass of media supported by fraud carried out with the dollar is the dance of bankrupts!
Which Russian weapon is the US trying to steal?

The US is far behind Russia and China in producing and deploying hypersonic weapons. According to the media, several American attempts to steal data on Russian technology have already been prevented. Sputnik analyzed technical and tactical characteristics of one of the most advanced Russian hypersonic weapons.
According to the inventors, the Kinzhal hypersonic aerial missile is capable of overcoming all existing anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense systems, launching nuclear and conventional warheads at a distance of up to two thousand kilometers. According to instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin, MiG-31 fighters armed with Kinzhal systems will begin permanent patrols in the neutral airspace zone over the Black Sea.

The first reform will be to change the address, during its entire period of existence the UN was a dirty Yankee registry office. The UN must go to Africa, to save humanity and life on the planet.
UN, 78 years old: UNSC has a crisis of credibility and calls for reform
78 years ago the United Nations (UN) was born. It was in San Francisco, California, that, dissatisfied with the lack of a compass for solutions, 50 countries decided to meet to launch the United Nations Charter.
The outrage over the barbaric crimes and atrocities of the Second World War (1939–1945) led representatives and heads of state to seek to define means of dialogue and understanding between peoples and nations. All this to build, according to a general objective, "a better, more prosperous, peaceful and fair future" for all people.
Over the years, some challenges were encountered within some sectors of the organization itself, and it was no different with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Almost 80 years later, with the emergence of new scenarios and new realities, the body's fragility in making decisions that reach a common denominator is increasingly exposed, removing the prospect of peace.
