Queen Charlotte’s Golda Rosheuvel and India Amarteifio discuss the Bridgerton spin-off | Bazaar UK
Life has begun to imitate art for Golda Rosheuvel and India Amarteifio. The stars of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story play the title role at different stages of the royal’s life, but the two are now so close, they introduce themselves as each other in the latest episode of our One on One video franchise.
“I’m a real advocate for not holding on to this role,” says Rosheuvel, who has played Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton since it first aired in 2020. “Even though I created it – it’s not mine. Being able to give it over to India, for her to be able to really run with it and make it her own, was important.”

India’s portrayal made me feel as though I was watching someone who could easily be of the same personality as one of my friends but India’s portrayal always made me curious about her journey to becoming the queen she presently is.

I feel that the first two seasons were one thing, but "Queen Charlotte" is on a level that seems a bit above. It goes into this level of heart and emotion that I really feel is award worthy in a way that the other two weren't. Don't get me wrong, they were great, but this was excellence in storytelling and character development. Brava!!!
