Is British racing’s grand plan DOOMED to fail before it begins? | The Front Page | Horse Racing News

Published

on

Three big subjects and three big problems for racing make for a meaty edition of The Front Page.

Lee Mottershead, Chris Cook and Jonathan Harding begin by discussing a big-race weekend that featured Jonbon, El Fabiolo and, regrettably, scenes of violence at Aintree.

Serious questions are then asked about the imminent launch of Premier racing, with the panel discussing the lack of money and promotion that threatens to turn a bold concept into a damp squib.

Inadequate funding is also at the heart of concerns regarding aftercare provision in Britain, a subject that last week sparked parliamentary interest. The Front Page team examines what the sport needs to do and where the necessary money might be found.

No doubt horse racing is slowly dying. After 30yrs of enjoying a bet I no longer bet at all.

This is killing the sport l love. Everything is based around a Cheltenham win. Henderson won't take on Willie's at Ascot next time. There are no epic duels through the winter anymore.Going from 3 to 4 days at the festival, giving options that have diluted the sport throughout the winter.

Can any one explain why Australia, under the half the size of the UK, has much higher prize money than the UK? How does their funding model work and why can`t we imitate it. Why isn`t there an article on this in the Post, or is this too sensitive?

good to see dido harding getting a big job in racing. the fact she was over track and trace and it only cost 37 billion was hardly her fault?!?! like putting jimmy saville over a childrens home.

These guys have never payed into a days racing in their lives , sitting in a heated press box , free food… go to racing as a punter and you get ripped off at every turn , extortionate bar and food prices , rip off bookies .

I would like to know how they manage to get drugs into the course with sniffer dogs at the gate,my view somebody on the inside is taking them in
And it’s the reason why myself family & friends who had been going to the Cheltenham festival for over 47 years that finished last year, we decided EN MASSE we’ve had enough of 1.DRINKING & DRUG taking,2.Treating the proper racegoers with utter disdain at the same time trying to get people to go racing, the authorities need to understand at least 90% do not go for the racing they go for a drink & drugs binge.3.Being ripped off with ticket prices and you need a Gold Card to buy food, and getting out of the car park was beyond ridiculous their only interest is MONEY and SOD the punter.😔🙈

I've genuinely no idea how premierisation is supposed to help racing. It just seems to be magical thinking. Even listening to this discussion, what is "marketing" supposed to market? And to whom? None of the panellists are saying anything, just "changes" and "opportunities" but nothing specific. We already know what are the most important races on a Saturday: they are the ones on ITV.

Great premier race days, race of the day watching 1/5 shot trot round on the bridle.

The problem with racing is not the white paper bill!! It’s the bookies an sport is so corrupt punters are turning away from the sport. If you not getting a fair shot why would anyone want to bet!!

2026 Agentic Coding Trends Report: Is Writing Code Dying?

Published

on

What if the future of software development is no longer about writing every line of code yourself?

In this video, I break down Anthropic’s 2026 Agentic Coding Trends Report and explain what it means for developers, founders, engineers, students, and even non-technical professionals. The big shift? We’re moving from coding line by line to orchestrating teams of AI agents that can debug, test, document, build features, and even work on long-running projects with human oversight.

In this explainer, we cover:
* why Anthropic calls this a tectonic shift in software development
* how multi-agent systems are replacing single-agent workflows
* why long-running AI agents can now build complete systems
* how human oversight becomes even more important, not less
* what this means for junior developers, senior engineers, CS students, founders, and non-technical users
* the 4 key priorities organizations should focus on in 2026

The report argues that the role of engineers is evolving from implementers to orchestrators, while AI handles more of the tactical work such as writing, debugging, testing, and documentation. But the human role remains critical in strategy, validation, architecture, and judgment.

If you’re interested in:
AI coding agents, Anthropic, Claude Code, multi-agent systems, agentic workflows, software engineering trends, developer productivity, and the future of coding — this video is for you.
