The biggest problem is overpopulation. That impacts everything – jobs, safety, Air/noise pollution levels. Not to mention shitty politics always focused on diving people instead of focusing on development

We need for Businesses , Draconian laws need to be scrapped so that the market is more freed. Although, it has improved. Another big problem is Indian youth are always after Government jobs and don't wanna reconsider. We need more entrepreneurs

  7. @Awakenbeing

    December 24, 2023 at 9:53 am

Until unless states like UP, Bihar in India doesn't adore the idea of Entrepreneurship the problem of Job less youth will remain , thousand of youth spend 5-10 years of their valuable time and invest lakhs of money instead of pushing themselves to learn skills needs to open a business and make living. The Govt doesn't encourage youth to become skilled in jobs where skills is only necessary like IT jobs, manufacturing jobs. China lift off its majority of population from poverty because of manufacturing hub it has open in its country, Training uneducated village people skills required to work in manufacturing plants is the key for China's growth. Today platform like youtube, skill share provide thousand of training videos, free and premium to teach skills needed to become industry ready. Govt jobs should be discourage by the govt so ppl will move to private sectors. Govt sectors are not very target oriented and perform poorly on generating revenue for govt instead many are sucking out money from govt which are already driven towards debt, and these youth wants to be part of such sectors.

The qs remains, even if we bring the jobs how do we bridge the skill deficit? The govt spends less than 3% of gdp on education.

India is creating private jobs but not the govt jobs which are more popular as govt jobs being very stable secure while the private jobs in India are very unstable and these private jobs are hell insane working hour no time for life or family and over the top underpay too slow growth, life is too tough for lower middleclass and middleclass in country you cannot create govt jobs overnight but can create private jobs. Here BBC has not addressed the issue of private and govt jobs.

If they had invested 30% of their time and effort in learning a new technology, they would have atleast earned 50k per month by now in private IT firms. Our country is developing with new technology innovative digital services. Still our population things sarkari naukri is the only option. I know a friend who was preparing for upsc for 3 years. Joined IT in TCS with only 3.5 LPA then upskilled himself now he is earning 26 LPA in cisco. He is married living a lavish lifestyle happily.

The way Indians procreate it is impossible for any government to create jobs for everyone. Most of the job seekers, especially in North India, are on the lookout for cosy secure government jobs and this is just not happening. No government has been able to do it since 1947 and to expect anything different now is insanity. Time to stop making babies.

India not creating enough jobs is not the complete picture. The major problem in India is that job is associated with status in indian society. From marriage prospects to dealing with police to getting good loans, everything gets determined by your job or the jobs of your loved ones. In this scenario, even if a comparable job in private sector may be available, people will still prefer trying for government jobs. Such mindset is changing rapidly among the middle class who now start applying for private sector after 2-3 attempts in government sector or simply do not fall in this rat race.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
