UK’s fourth banking hub opens in East Yorkshire as high street branches close | Anna Riley reports

Published

on

‘It’s a clever answer to what was turning into a real problem, which is the absence of banks on the high street, the absence of cash.’

Conservative MP, David Davis, speaks to Anna Riley as the UK’s fourth banking hub opens in Cottingham, East Yorkshire.

All the Banks should be forced to combine to open Hubs everywhere. This bunch of clowns that are presently running this country haven’t got a clue what the ordinary Public need. They live in the Westminster bubble remote and disconnected from reality! ( conservative voter).

Maybe start with what this whole thing you're making a news report about is!! You did give a half-assed explanation about 1 minute into the video, and there were several descriptions in the interviews which were not about really explaining the basics but were answering/describing other things. So there never was a proper explanation.
You never explained what a "Banking Hub" is…I'm assuming it's some joint service point serving the customers of several banks instead of all the separate banks needing to have their own and therefor it being unviable for all of them. So Banking Hubs make it viable by jointly sharing the costs of one customer service point. But you never explained that.

"I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of" is a legal promise printed on EVERY pound note! Any company that refuses legal tender should be closed down for breaking the law!

Great< video and some nice tips! This is a scary time for new investors but the best thing you can do is not to make decisions based on emotions. This could actually be a good time to buy more of your high conviction stocks or crypto on a discount. Wealth is created during bear markets, not bull markets. If your portfolio is really effecting your mental health then delete the app and go for a walk. Let the market do its thing and have a long time horizon. I buy and just trade long term more than ever, I have made over 19` btc from day trading with Liam Bradley in few weeks this is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes bearish.

Cottingham already has 400 illegals living in former university halls of residence, now they want to shove 1000 more in there. Good luck to the residents – having a bank will be the least of their worries.

Banks haven't closed there branches because there greedy or turned there backs on the high street it's because nobody uses them first it was telephone banking then Internet banking you can do everything on your app the only time you go in a bank it either a loan or mortgage and yes there is still a need for somewhere to deposit cash but far and few inbertween most of the up and coming older people in the next 20 years will be fully aware how to use the Internet banking some old people don't want to learn you can't teach a old dog new tricks oh YES YOU CAN.

This should be everywhere, people seem to forget what 'service' is…people to people. Plus, using cards
means every single transaction you make, the bank gets a percentage of your money too….that's almost
robbery! I personally will never use any shop that only accepts cards. This is the only way people can
make their opinions heard in the banking world!

  17. @John-boy70138

Many businesses are refusing to take cash as legal tender should be taken to court. The promise to pay on our bank notes should be taken. We’ve all become too comfortable with electronic banking and will come a time when the electronic system will fail. Either through power cuts or hackers. Just take a look at Ukraine as just one example of the war.
We’re putting ourselves in a position open to collapse.

Positive thing for the future… banks… like they were years ago. Or setup in shopping outlets rather than high streets.

It's odd that this is being championed by a Tory. The PM along with his friends in the WEF seem set on a cashless society. A social credit score. Like China.
They must feel the time is right as the horrors of extreme socialism have faded from the western consciousness. Ie. Fascism, Marxism and Nazism.

Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.

This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.
