IMF approves $900m loan payment for Ukraine – BBC News
Ukraine’s President Zelensky is due to meet with US President Joe Biden on Tuesday as part of a critical visit to help secure US military aid.
Zelensky has called on Congress to overcome its delays which he said were a “dream come true” for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He’s also been meeting with the head of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, after the IMF approved a $900m payment for Ukraine as part of its more than $15bn loan programme.
The IMF also upgraded its growth forecasts for Ukraine predicting the economy would grow by 4.5% this year.

Nato is preparing for a new era of warfare, combining cheaper weapons deployed at scale with tougher air defences, one of its most senior commanders has told the BBC’s The Security Brief.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Johnny Stringer said NATO was drawing lessons from Ukraine, combining its sophisticated, expensive weapons with cheaper systems that can be deployed in far greater numbers.

US President Donald Trump has said he thinks “it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president” as he responded to Volodymyr Zelensky’s criticism of the US diesel deal with Russia.
The Ukrainian president warned a new deal to release millions of tonnes of Russian diesel into the US would provide Moscow with money to continue its war against his nation, calling it a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump told reporters outside the White House on Saturday that Zelensky “wants to make problems for the world” by continuing to authorise attacks on Russian refineries.

Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian oil refineries, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, as he accused the US of withdrawing crucial support.
He also accused the US of withdrawing intelligence-sharing on Russian strikes, and said restrictions to Starlink satellite services used by Ukraine’s military were deliberate.
Ukraine’s military relies on US early-warning alerts of incoming Russian aerial attacks to mount air defences, limiting successful strikes, while Starlink internet links are used throughout its war effort to guide drones and protect its skies.
But on Tuesday night, Starlink suddenly and unexpectedly restricted the speed at which drones could fly while still maintaining internet connection. This disrupted some battlefield “missions”, a top Ukrainian official said, and hampered Kyiv’s ability to protect itself from incoming Russian attacks.
Elon Musk, whose Space X company operates Starlink, suggested that the US government may have been behind the restrictions, adding that Starshield, the military-grade sister service to Starlink, is controlled by the US government, and “any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately [the US president]”.
The US government has not commented.

Sort of funny how we have growing and growing stories of Ukranian Government corruption using the money to line their pockets, one town even had a man attack their district council for giving themselves payrises while clean water was not secured in the area. Who would have known giving a country that was known to be the most corrupt in Europe this money would be an issue?

Not seen many strategic reports in the MSM on the conflict recently- the IDF massacre is a useful distraction for the US right now. Look at the maps and numbers for yourselves – UKR is finished- the MSM is instructed to show it as 'soft exit' for the US, hence the switch to 'indirect' funding as shown here and the 'sweep it under the carpet' strategy of focusing on the middle-East.

This $900 million will soon disappear into the accounts of the EU and Ukrainian political Elites . There is zero chance of a Ukrainian victory over Russia as the Russians can outgun them over 7x without using Nuclear weapons . This is just grabbing as much cash before the collapse of Ukraine and the fleeing to Florida of the Zelensky regime.
