Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cancels US Senate briefing amid funding row – BBC News
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called off a high-profile briefing with US lawmakers amid an impasse over future US funding for the country.
Virtual appearances in the Senate and House had been scheduled for Tuesday, but were cancelled at the last moment.
It came after a top Ukrainian official warned they are in danger of losing the war against Russia if more US military aid is not approved.
Senate leader Chuck Schumer did not explain why Mr Zelensky was a no-show.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News
The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News
President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News
The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

The BBC does understand that there's more than ONE POLITICAL PARTY AND ONE VIEWPOINT IN THE US RIGHT? They're as annoying as CNN and MSNBC in their lopsided covers and analysis of US politics. They keep bringing these pinhead, leftist academics on their programs, to try to explain a complicated US political environment – but it's always from the Left's view of things! That's very disingenuous to the viewers. The US politicians have to ultimately answer to the voters – there are no Kings or Queens in the US – that's our money being used and many are growing weary of propping up European defense. It's time for Europe to stop bragging about "free healthcare and being able to find the US on a map", and start funding their militaries. IF 26 EUROPEAN COUNTRIES CAN'T BAIL OUT OR PROTECT ONE – THEN "HOUSTON,VWE HAVE A PROBLEM…".🤔🧐🤨🙄

We should have made an arrangement with Russia before giving so much to Ukraine.
But then Biden made a deal to launder money with Ukraine when Biden was VP.
Zelensky wants the US to
GIVE HIM MONEY and
back his ego fully to win against Russia.
The US should have allowed Russia the land they wanted and not bet on the losers.

Zelensky is not Ukrainian. He is a brilliant actor. He is the only beneficiary of the war, and will emerge from it the richest man in the world. Today he owns the most luxurious yachts and the most expensive real estate, and the stupid Ukrainian people are fighting the motherland and fighting a people of the same origin😢

well america has no obligation to fund ukraine but look at it in this way if russia wins all there nukes will be stationed in ukraine then russia will go on to take other countrys then all of europe and the states will be a target for russias nukes and the outcome will be a nucliar war thats for sure so at the end of the day would financial help from america be beneficial rather then a third world war.

please explain to me:
1. Every year America, under the auspices of NATO, places more and more military bases with nuclear warheads near the borders of Russia directly on the territory of European countries – why?
(by the way, in the event of a global conflict, the missile defense systems and launchers located as close as possible will be the first to be destroyed – this is obvious – why Europe needs this is unclear.)
2. Russia (USSR) lived in isolation for 70 years and was self-sufficient, do you really think that it could suffer from sanctions? 🙂 – America and Britain were forced to impose sanctions, but ordinary people and businesses in Europe suffer first of all. (for example, the Uniliver company continues its business in Russia, but where are the European companies? Why did they suffer losses? Well, that’s your European business – Russia will handle it)
3. Russia has not lost a single war in its entire history – do you really want to test this thesis with the whole of Europe? Russia doesn’t want war – we don’t need to prove to anyone that we know how to fight – just study history.

As expected, the International Communities had all the while knew that Zelensky wasn't keen about the Ukraine War and had been siphoning $trillions of financial aids to built resorts apartments in some 🎉countries. The US was the main culprit to spearhead financial aids to Zelensky towards the war against Russia as well coercing the EU and NATO to join the US to continuously providing financial aids to Zelensky as long as requested by Zelensky. Britain (Sunak) was the first to follow suit to the US in pledging financial assistance to Zelensky at the expense of neglecting the British people dire domestic need for more Financial Assistance to fight inflation.
Now, he has the "cheek" to even goes right up to the US to seek for continuous financial assistance to finance his real estates and luxurious properties. He had ea😅rlier sack some of his generals as they knew too much about Zelensky's corruption 😂and those stayed back were the corrupted ones.

To think this man Zelensky is responsible for the killing of thousands of Ukrainians, yet with the propaganda and the money making from arms, he continues to get aid to kill more Ukrainians who requested a referendum long before Russian entered Ukraine. He is basically another Hitler, Hitler did exactly the same to get support to kill people. But it's Christmas, the West does not care, they just want to be able to afford their energy bills and food bills to pig out while innocent people are being killed by Zelensky, their families won't be having a happy Christmas.
@stephanruan1846

Zelensky finally realised that nothing is for free nor there be God Father constantly providing financial aids at the expense of neglecting their own countries dire domestic needs.

How much money is zelenskij asking for this time to be given and spent? The sum could buy you 500000 ferraris at 100000 GBP. If you line the cars up, one after the other, they will cover a distance of 2250 kilometers. Just for the record, the New York – Havana flight is 2105km
