Is Washington leaving Saudi Arabia to fend for itself?
Last week, Houthi rebels launched a series of missile strikes on Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital. Surveillance footage showed a fireball erupting as airport passengers ran for cover. At least fourteen people have been killed and hundreds were injured.
The attack is the latest escalation in a decade-long war between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in neighbouring Yemen. The Saudis have long relied on financial, military and intelligence support from the United States, particularly in their fight against the Houthis. But Washington so far has shown little appetite for direct involvement in the fighting.
So why is the United States holding back? And what does that mean for the people caught in the middle?
The BBC’s chief international investigations correspondent, Nawal Al-Maghafi, recently reported from inside Yemen and joins The Global Story’s Asma Khalid to discuss why this conflict is escalating and what might happen next.

A Kenyan judge has started to deliver a verdict in a mass murder case involving doomsday preacher Paul Mackenzie.
Mackenzie and 29 of his followers are being charged with the murder of 191 people, all but one of them children.
His cult is alleged to have forced children to starve to death so that they could “meet Jesus”.
Mackenzie and the 29 others have all pleaded not guilty to murder, repeatedly insisting that nobody was forced to die.

America’s pain at the pump could have major implications for the future of the war in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump wants to bring down fuel prices for Americans. One way he’s trying to do it is by reopening the door to Russian energy, reversing a policy designed to deprive Russian President Vladimir Putin of money for his war in Ukraine.
The shift comes as relations between Trump and Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky have deteriorated dramatically. Trump has blamed Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries for contributing to the global diesel shortage, while Ukraine says those refineries are a crucial source of revenue for Russia’s war machine.
So, is American angst about fuel prices changing Trump’s approach to the war? And would importing Russian diesel even make a meaningful difference to US prices?

Yemen’s Houthis have warned aviation firms and passengers against using Saudi airports and airspace, after 12 people were killed in an attack on the international airport in Riyadh.
More than 300 were injured in Saturday’s attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia.
The Houthi statement on Sunday did not directly refer to Saturday’s attack, but previously did say they were behind separate strikes on the same airport on Thursday.
Four Saudis, two people from Bangladesh and one person each from the US, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt were killed, the Saudi civil aviation authority said.

Very sad. Cold in mind and heart.
Usually you want killers and criminals to look cheap and crude, she looks very empathetic and balanced.
If she joined health care to become an unnoticed killer it makes us all scared. Too scared to visit any hospital.

Lucy Letby is innocent. The whole case was circumstantial. The police had nothing on her apart from some insulin results that were not analysed to a forensic standard and so we will never know for sure if the insulin was synthetic or not. They cherry picked incidents to match her shift and she was only actually present at half the deaths over the years. The police and media spun it to make out she was a monster. The monster was not her but the understaffed, underskilled and contaminated unit that she was working on. Supposedly run by 7 consultants only one of which had special interest skills in neonatology. A ward where the there were only 2 ward rounds per week, where doctors rotas were not complete and where there were not enough senior nurses. It was a staffing chaos waiting for the labour ward flooding and sewage leaks that caused the infection clusters no doubt. The senior consultants all needed a scapegoat to take their embarrassing stats away. That was Lucy Letby.

I need to show this to a parent, who was a cop. When he see his children next to a male stranger, he tend to be more suspicious and careful. Now when they are next to a female stranger, he has the stupid assumption that they are safer.

Well she is appealing her sentence as everyone has a right to do wonder what excuses she will spin out now no doubt her deluded father encouraged her to do so listen if they find evidence to prove she is innocent then that will be justice and the authorities can look for the Real serial baby killer she is the real serial baby killer good luck to her lawyer proving her innocence hop the British taxpayer isn't paying for this will she attend the results of her appeal she was too cowardly to face the family at her 1st trial

Surely the hospital should have realised there was something wrong about her personality way before she was able to go about doing what she did, health boards were repeatedly warned about her behaviour by doctors of the hospital but turned a blind eye out of apathy, why haven’t they been put behind bars like her

I work in an Emergency Department, management really don't care. They empty the trolleys clogging our corridors every day hours before a minister or politician comes, to cover their own ass. They ignore our calls and concerns time after time after time. They are the scum of the earth
