Even in America, conservatives always ruin the economy.
Trump and Reagan blows up national debt, and then Democrats had to deal with inflation. Obama was handed recession, while Trump was given a booming economy.
Same with biden.

As we've seen many times before: Pre-election polls vastly overrate Labour's popularity and vastly underrate The Tories' popularity.
The only poll that's really worth taking note of is an exit poll.
I wish I had as much belief as those who are sure Labour are going to win the next election(and by some distance) but I really think they are unaware of some of these very important facts:
The main reason Brexit happened and Boris won so many seats at the last election is because millions of people up and down the country see immigration as the most-important political issue.
Come next year, those said millions of people will see the situation as being: Labour want as many immigrants over here as possible, so have no interest in sorting out problems in The Channel. The Tories aren't so keen on immigrants and will try their best to reduce the number of people coming over here.
Other things that need pointing out is that Murdoch still has power and he will, of course, back Rishi at the next election. The Tory-supporting Daily Mail's power can't be underestimated, given how big they've become in recent times.
Now let's get to Keir Starmer: He certainly doesn't seem to be a popular charmer like Blair was and I can't see those who lean slightly to the right falling in love with him.
Those who lean slightly to the left or majorly to the left aren't all sure to vote for his party because there are many people of that persuasion who don't like him and don't agree with quite a lot of his policies.
Take Brexit, for example. Starmer is fully committed to staying out of The EU and I find it hard to believe the millions of people who would've spent about 8 years campaigning for us to rejoin The EU will all be rushing out to vote for a party who are as pro-Brexit as The Tories are!
Let me make it clear that I want Labour to win the next election but I think people are deluded if they believe there's no possibilty of The Tories remaining in power after 2024.

The "controversial immigration bill" is only controversial for people who already hate the tories and would never vote for them. People who are historically conservative, or are on the fence understand that the small boats crisis is a real issue, that the current system has failed, and that radical new action needs to be taken to end the flow of illegal economic migrants, while fulfilling our obligations to help those in genuine need.
The tories need to stop worrying about the people who already hate them and deliver bold strategies that will sove the issues important to 1. their base and 2. swing voters. That means engaging properly with the "culture war", being tough on unions and taking control of the Met from Labour and reforming it into two units, a serious crime unit like the FBI in america, and the London Police Force for every day london policing.

Labour win when people are particularly angry with the Tories (which is clearly not often), not because the UK is a centre-left country. A Labour win is an aberration.
@torfinnzempel6123
December 21, 2023 at 12:06 pm
Britain's aristocracy need not fear, Starmer will either deliberately throw the election to the Tories like he did last one; or, he will govern just like any old Tory meaning the Tories will win the election after while getting to point out how awful Tory policies are when the Labor party institutes them.

The polling is bad because the party is going further and further to the right, gaslighting us to believe the right wing issues are the ones we care about. Its vacated a lot of space to labour for moderate voters.
Constantly engaging in culture wars, branding everyone woke and branding people unproductive and lazy doesnt help either.
