Yesterday, in a significant blow to Rishi Sunak, the Conservatives suffered two heavy defeats in by-elections, while Labour and Liberal Democrats made major gains. In this video, we look at the by-elections, comparing them with the previous results in 2019, and analyse what this could mean for Rishi Sunak’s premiership and the upcoming general election.

I think weirdly canadian and british elections have a commonality. Labour in the uk doesnt care if scotland leaves the union and the conservatives in canada dont care if quebec becomes independent. However those issues are actually important to about 90% of the people in each country. Thats why labour will continue to win in canada and the conservatives will win in the uk until the other parties wake up to those issues and release a realistic non wishy washy policy.

Yeah if the Conservatives actually cared about things that harm Englishmen, they would be losing so bad. But nope, they wanna go after a tiny marginalised community. Dollars and roofs, or lack there of is scarier then a trans woman peeing. But Tories dont understand that

Good points for the most part, but could we maybe not go with the propaganda lines that
a. ULEZ is a Sadiq Khan policy (it's Boris Johnson's)
b. The vote was a major defeat due to ULEZ
Like come on. You can't say both that it was a narrow win in a once safe Tory seat, and that it was a crushing defeat, both in the same sentence.

Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend in Syria on the wings of two angels, his face dripping water as if he had just come out of the shower, his breath will reach the tips of his fingers, any person who enters into the space of his breath will die immediately except for Muslims, he will kill the pig and break the cross and then pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque with Muslims, Then he calls the Christians to convert to Islam, He also recommended them before (in the Gospel of Barnabas) to believe in Muhammad, the Messenger of God peace be upon him.[61:6]
And when Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger who cometh after me, whose name is the Praised One. Yet when he hath come unto them with clear proofs, they say: This is mere magic.
[61:7]
And who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah when he is summoned unto Al-Islam ? And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
[61:8]
Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light however much the disbelievers are averse.
[61:9]
He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it conqueror of all religion however much idolaters may be averse.

The Greens came third in all three seats, and in Somerton and Frome they got 10.2% of the vote, pushing Labour into fourth place with only 2.6%. It was a good day for The Greens.

One thing the by-elections have highlighted is how badly split the left wing/"anyone but tory" vote is. With that share of the vote split 3 ways I expect it's going to be tricky to form government next election without a coalition.

@peabody1976
December 20, 2023 at 1:18 am
I was looking at the three by-election numbers you had. If you take "Tories vs. all else", you get a true picture of their worries:
1) Uxbridge and S. Ruislip had Tuckwell at 13,965 and Beales at 13,470, by itself a close call. Had enough people who voted for either Bacquiche or Green, or both, switched to strategic voting, Labour would have won. The three parties combined had a better showing that Tuckwell alone.
2) In Selby and Ainsty, Mather by himself won an outright win, even if you put the Tories/Lib Dems/Greens together and just barely if you include the top independent candidate and the Reform UK candidate. At 16,456, the Holmes would have needed both the independent and the Reform UK votes and still would not have won.
3) Somerton and Frome was not only an outright win by Sarah Dyke, but by herself she won more votes than all other candidates combined.
If these numbers hold, irrespective Uxbridge/S. Ruislip, it means both the Labour and Lib Dem parties have a chance of if not a majority Labour government then a hung parliament with Labour and Lib Dems possibly teaming up should some policies align. Yes, Sunak needs to be worried.

December 20, 2023 at 1:18 am
Votes not seats! Don't you know the difference? And it is "cocaine use" not cocaine usage" "use" refers to using, whereas "usage" refers to a rate of using. The Conservatives are NOT "being squeezed from multiple directions", they are being squeezed from just TWO directions. Whoever wins the next election might do well to look at how English is taught in schools:)
I suppose the now fashionable pronunciation of issue as though it it were spelt with sh is something one has to accept, but as it is written "issue", why do so many people nowadays pronounce it "ishoo"? American influence probably. Do people say "tishoo" for tissue? And do people say "kish" for kiss? Mish for miss=? Mish for Miss? The only exception I can think of is when s is folowed by ion because then the word would take long to to pronounce or.permission "permishon" instead of permis i on for example. Otherwise the s sounds sounds crisper than a sh sound.
As for the election results, does it make a big difference? Both Conservative and Labour stand for more or less the same thing: pro NATO, pro West, pro globalist.
@jamespayter6948
