Yes….if it cuts wasted expenditure on stupid ideas like HS2, stops all foreign aid spend including billions on hotels for illegals and stops raiding the private sector which is the only way to improve productivity.

Isn't the public sector employing 4 million people now? Slash it…get rid of none-jobs on the Gravy Train.

    December 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

Well what are your leaders spending the money on that should be spent on a fair wage for your workers? How much do you pay to house the migrants in fancy hotels a day? 6-7 million?

Don’t get why the teachers are getting a bigger percentage pay rise than the nurses , junior doctors and consultants who I respect far more than the woke teachers that are spouting woke nonsense to the school children.

6% public sector pay rise would cost £5 billion, so stop spending £3 billion on illegal migrants, stop giving £8 billion in foreign aid and the government would actually be £6 billion up on the deal!

Just take it out of the oversea aid budget…..or just send the immigrant invasion back to france and save on hotel bills…..not difficult is it

Typical of Dewbury pitting one group of workers against another. How about taxing the rich properly to pay for these rises for a change?

A government can do something that ordinary people cannot – print money. Governments all over the world did it during the Covid-19 show to boost consumption. Everyone knows the result today – inflation at rocket speed. One way to fight inflation is interest rate policy. Raising wages will only add to inflation.

Pay rise for everybody or for nobody 🤷🏼‍♂️. Inflation is the same for everyone and everyone pays the same taxes.

The only thing Sunak is good at is giving money away that doesn’t belong to him

WE need to throw out the anti-growth coalition, and the best way to secure growth is to re-join the EU.

Really, it's called Neo Liberalism which has engulfed the Western world for a long time, now coming home to roost. Might want to report on why we're in this financial mess,

  14. @jackhadroom4540

    December 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

We can't afford strikes either, or a higher turnover of public sector workers. It's a catch-22.

  15. @stephfoxwell4620

    December 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

Well we could afford £450 billion during the Covid lockdowns.
Public sector pay rise is barely £9 billion

    December 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

If the Government stopped using our money to pay for their personal swimming pools, helicopters and useless PPE then we could afford it.

  17. @hughjasse3375

    December 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

No, sorry, we have a huge dinghy people bill.

If they don't like it, don't vote in parties that ignore voter wishes and import/pay for them anyway.

If they do support globalist NGOs imposing it on the nation, outside the democratic process, then suck it up. Pay for it, and stop whining. They're so selfish.

Wasn't austerity supposed to fix the public dept problems.

It's time to admit 10 years of Tory cuts were just doctrine

Social workers are over-rated; they don't seem to have a degree-level qualification. Look how they only have a ,limited range of options in their working day, apart from referring their victims to other resources, nothing much goes on.

  20. @gerryrobins5775

    December 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

Easy just stop paying the Illegals Migrant Bill..

Andy Burnham told to “COME CLEAN” over Man City meeting: “What’s being hidden?”

Published

By

Kemi Badenoch has called for Andy Burnham to “come clean and publish meetings” with Manchester City chiefs.

The Prime Minister came under fire last week after saying he would be “really concerned” if the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), which owns City, were forced to sell the club after being found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules.

Downing Street had to issue two clarifications on Mr Burnham’s position following backlash from fans.

The Conservative Party leader has now weighed in, being asked whether the Prime Minister should come clean and publish all meetings with people at Manchester City while he was mayor.

BREAKING: Henry Nowak’s arresting officers are under investigation over their conduct prior to his death.

The pair of Hampshire officers are being investigated for potential gross misconduct over the arrest and handcuffing of the 18-year-old university student last December.

While his hands were tied behind his back, Mr Nowak repeatedly told officers that he had been stabbed and was unable to breathe while his killer was treated as a victim of racist abuse.

One policeman responded: “Don’t think you have, mate.”
