We are actually a major goods manufacturing nation.

UK outperforming Germany is like being up against a boxer with both his arms and legs broken. Doesn't say much. The dumb sanctions placed on Russia by EU countries eager to please the corrupt US State Dept neocons will have their consequences. The EU is finished and so is Britain. Peace with Russia and repair of Nordstream is the only solution. Won't happen.

Isn’t germany going down the drain because they now have to buy expensive energy (forced by American blowing up their cheap gas pipe line) that then is destroying their now uncompetitive manufacturing industry?

"out perform' but making the cost of living MORE EXPENSIVE and EATING in to the savings of the middle class while screwing over the unemployed and poor.

    GG

PROTIFS do not mean a nation's economy is thriving if they are SELLING LESS but MAKING MORE

    thats not an economy.

you want a thriving economy you need to have MORE affordable goods and that generates more jobs which means more people are independant BUT that is dangerous cos they people will want more control over their own lives and be more likely not to vote idiots in general elections basde on hate votes

Germany is ruled by a bunch of green doughnuts who want to de-industrialize the country. Poland is set to achieve parity with them in less than 10 years.
