Whatever happens with Electricity its all the same just the same cable's taking it to homes and business do renewables have an effect the fact is we need more supply, If EVs continue to grow places like China and India build coal fired power stations while this Side think they can effect climate change while these other countries break the rules its so self defeating when their isn't a global strategy for dealing with climate change .

Latest News … Drax are being warned that all further development must involve Carbon Capture Technologies and They must prove that Wood pellets sourced ( mainly from the United States) are sustainable ie By product wood, not virgin trees etc etc; or their subsidies could be removed..UK Government Latest!
Do you wonder why we are paying some of the highest prices for energy in the UK and can you believe the Mind Set of the Goons leading our once great country..
We have Coal right under our feet and the Technology is available to capture the carbon.. But no.. Lets Destroy Carbon capturing Forests in North America and Ship it a quarter of the way around the world .. Out of sight out of mind Eh… You really cannot fathom the juvenile intellect of our so called leaders who have somewhere between No hope and Bob Hope of getting my future votes

The Sunak-#unt Treasury BoE strategy is to CAUSE a Recession with Stagflation.

There's no way in hell a growth number of 0.1% or 0.2% hasn't been fiddled to keep it above -0.1%, two quarters in a row, so that no one can say the "R" word.

Fuel is up 13 pence a litre since last month. Wage rises are still going through. Companies and business people are looking for new opportunities in this changing environment to capitalise on the growth from the next thing.

Hard work is not paying off in this environment that’s for sure. Not when money had been dished out so much for doing nothing. So many are simply turning on their computer at 10:15am and still getting paid £50k+ for putting 20% effort in being lazy and finishing at 5pm exact, having achieved pretty much nothing of value.

Yet couple that with others working flat out hours and sleeping in their car because they are too tired to get home and each day they earn from hard work gets wiped out by fuel costs, inflation, food, fines, insurance… it’s savage out there.

Need a fresh bunch of CEO’s and entrepreneurs to set a new standard for amazing workers, not this slave ownership that’s here at the moment and has been for a long while.

Can’t believe people are still being paid £24k per year full time, NO WONDER THE RICH ARE SO HAPPY GETTING CHEAP LABOUR TO DO ALL THE THINGS THEY HATE FOR THEM.

Be prepared folks. I notice fuel is on the way UP again. That'll do wonders for the base rate and CPI

BoE needs reform, they don’t learn from past experience, they’re arrogant and seem to be living in their own little economic bubble, completely detached from reality…

    December 19, 2023 at 11:46 pm

By "the world" they mean the western world. all of the countries that sanctioned russian energy and borrowed mountains of cash to fund unnecessary lockdowns, those are the countries that are in trouble right now, there are plenty of countries out there who are doing just fine.

The published GDP figure is totally fake. The monthly quantative easing amount is added back into the GDP figure to keep it artificially above zero. Take the QE amount out and…..there's been negative growth since 2008. Its all fake!

  17. @shaunbat5097

    December 19, 2023 at 11:46 pm

Its criminal hiking interest rates…. demanding people pay regardless of they have the money….the BOE should be in court

UK economy isn't growing as the Government spending part of GDP is all debt on which interest is due in the future which means if you take into account the interest UK economy GDP is minus 4%. Hahaha. And given that when debt is created the interest on the debt isn't created leaving a gapping hole in the finances for the future generation.

How can he say we have had growth when he knows that the CPI is understated (which exaggerates growth) – truth is the economy is in free fall

SImple answer.. cancel HS2.. spend the money on mini reactor technology from RR which would both lower cost of power and generate an incredibly exportable product / technology and the previous percieved 'danger' of location of a reactor was effectively totally removed by that dear chap Putin announcing that he woudl simply let of a nuke off shore to flood UK if he desired – so location of a reactor is irrelevant and liberated.. Where is the leadership form the government on this ????

  34. @GodDamnItCarl

    December 19, 2023 at 11:46 pm

We have cheap energy. It’s just the energy companies increasing prices through artificially through greed.
If the unit price of gas/electric was actually increasing their profits wouldn’t be at record levels.
We are being screwed and the government wants it to happen.

  35. @kevingrant7098

    December 19, 2023 at 11:46 pm

thought we was going to have growth because of kings coronation all these tourists. Perhaps it’s just tourist Royal propaganda. This man is lying to us. Fracking for gas will be sold on the open market won’t be cheaper for UK consumers, just more money in the pockets of billionaires.
