The former leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, Jeffrey Donaldson, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of child sex offences, including rape.
Donaldson was convicted in June of 18 offences, which he committed against two women when they were children, between 1985 and 2008.
Reading victim statements, the sentencing judge said one woman grew up feeling ashamed, while the other said: “every day I pray God will let me die”.

Several people have been killed or injured as a result of a large fire near a Canadian military base in Alberta, the nation’s defence minister has said.
David McGuinty did not confirm the cause or the number of casualties, describing the situation as “very, very active and delicate”. The Canadian military and local authorities were managing the fire, he said.
Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, where the fire broke out, is one of the country’s busiest military training bases.

The overwhelming amount of approving and cheering comments by ordinary Russians in response to videos depicting the atrocities against civilians and prisoners of war in Ukraine were just as shocking to Ukrainians as the war itself. We had somehow grown accustomed to the war, but the realization of who we have been living alongside all this time without even knowing it is still horrifying.
Those barbaric creatures referred to themselves as our brotherly people. One can only imagine what they might do to those they consider their enemies given the opportunity.
Negotiating with Russia is akin to negotiating with ЕbоІа vіrus. Allowing Russia to remain undefeated is like undertreating a deadly infection – it will only return stronger. This is why any peace agreement that doesn't ensure a clear victory for Ukraine is merely a temporary ceasefire.

usa used ukraine to create a war against russia to weaken their military and make an issue to put sanctions. the greater goal was to keep europe away from russia and make europe dependent on usa. the first goal didn't work out. russia became even stronger and now has sample of almost every european weapons. the second goal was achieved. europe is depleaded of weapons and fully dependent on usa now.

I don't understand why sending a bunch of old surplus military equipment that has been sitting in a warehouse since the 90s valued at 61bn to win a war against the guy that tried to rig our elections and has thousands of nuclear missiles pointed at America is a bad idea.
