    TWO QUICK THINGS:
    1. We do know that there is no 'British' Green Party and that the one we're referring to is the Green Party of England and Wales (in fact I think that's noted in the video). In the title were just using UK as shorthand as having "the Green Party of England and Wales" is just too long for a YT title

    2. I'm hoping that the people commenting this video is us being 'openly partisan' just haven't watched the video. Sure the thumbnail suggests that the greens "kinda suck" but the video itself is about electoral and party reform, serious topics which I think even green supporters would either agree with or at least acknowledge. Why then did we use a provocative title? Well we think this is a genuinely important issue for both UK democracy and the Greens more specifically, and as such we want to flag it as much as we can. Calling this video something like "vital reforms to improve the green party's electability" just wouldn't get as many clicks, which is both bad for business and bad for our attempt to bring this conversation into the mainstream – Jack

It dosn't matter how hard conservatives campain for LGBTQ rights, it does not make them left wing. Thats what i have to say about the greens.

I think their soft support for separatistism in the UK would be used to beat then over the head if they started making major gains.

UK people were so dumb not to vote for a referendum when Nick Clegg negotiated a vote over it with his Co-elector David Cameron last decade…May there be another referendum vote (UK people no longer being so stupid; I know I'm not)

The German Greens are just US puppets. It's a party set up to promote US foreign policy in Europe. Fkuc them and i hope the German people see what they are.

The UK greens are disgrace, in 2015 they campaigned for ONE referendum of EU membership and when they didn't get the right result they tried to rerun it.

While I'm all for addressing Climate Change (and the broken voting system), Britain's contribution is a tiny fraction on the world scene, a drop in the ocean. Putting a green party in charge would just shoot ourselves in the foot, with very little positive to show for it, at a big cost to our quality of life.

The real places that need to do something about climate change are China, Russia, and the US. And there are governments like Australia which are absolutely terrible for climate damaging corruption.

FPTP is running the world into the ground.

People are too busy arguing over Conservatives vs Labour, democrats vs republicans, etc; when they should be campaigning for a proper voting system.

A voting system that makes it practical to vote for the party that you want, rather than feeling like it's a two horse race and voting "against" the party you hate.

Losing faith in Labour and I want to vote Green but what’s the point with 1st past the post. Until we get proportional voting I’m always going to vote Labour.

Doesn't help your chances to be elected if you want to impose a 6 o'clock curfew on men

  25. @chesterdonnelly1212

    December 19, 2023 at 7:45 am

The Green Party of England and Wales are useless. They have as many seats as they deserve.

  26. @IsidorosEduardos

    December 19, 2023 at 7:45 am

First pass the post is not a bad system. It is just designed to maximize the government's ability to function in a democracy. Having to choose between two or three parties maximizes the chances of a government being formed, which leads to more political stability in parliamentary systems – and makes presidential systems, like the USA balance out the President's power.

It could be said it's less representative, yes. But factionalism and chaotic government are not healthy for a democracy either – think of France during the Third and Fourth Republics. Being too representative can also lead to the government being unable to act due to irreconcilable differences among many parties.
