    How do those people vote?

Something in between those two solutions would be best. A % cap on mortgage rate increases of, say, 6% plus making it very difficult for banks to foreclose on home owners. Possibly the ability to take your mortgage from home to home and an agreement to lengthen or shorten the years of the term depending on income without additional penalties. There is no reason a mortgage cannot become a savings policy towards retirement and/or elderly care or even be transferred to children to help them buy their first home.
Banks will have to stop sleeping and come up with encouraging people to invest and save for themselves rather than wallow on other taxpayers. The government is best kept out of people's private lives.

No, the sodding govt should not help people with their mortgages. That is beyond communism. It is INSANE. Interest rates have been insanely low for years and people have had a mindless party. Anyway, as far as I can see, everyone is still having a mindless party.

Why are they not discussing the ridiculous rises in buying a house? I'm no expert but I was just looking up, in the mid 1980's the average borrowing for a morgage was just over twice income. Last year it was almost 7 times income. Surely this is what needs to change? It might be possibly to have a 14% interest rate when borrowing is double one annual income but not when it's 7 times!! I also think cutting up houses to make 'flats' should be monitored more closely- again this type of behaviour is surely only going to massively increase the prices of full houses??

Inflation is theft. The government are lying when they blame it on anything but themselves. They pee on you and tell you it's raining.

Bad luck don't borrow what you cannot pay back. Its time for the feckless to face the music.

  15. @piglex1

    January 6, 2024 at 11:01 am

Wow! You started thinking did you? Should the government step in to help? You are an idiot. The inflation is caused by Government printing cheap money so it can afford to pay off some of the interest on its own debt, supply arms to Ukraine , bribe the electorate, pay millions to house illegal immigrants, and build HS2.Now you want it to print more to bail out mortgage holders? Go back to school.

    SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUPS

Many people have been living way being their means for too long. Those people are now learning that there are consequences to the risks and choices that they made for themselves.
Other people were more financially savvy and they're riding the storm quite well.

Well u can bet this Tory government will not help, they want u owning nothing just like the bank's it's all about the money

  19. @davidjacksonjackson3212

    January 6, 2024 at 11:01 am

The government does not have the money or the inclination to help people, but the greedy banks and building society could help by giving a pay break it people who cannot find the money to pay the mortgage,

  23. @austinlloyd9757

    January 6, 2024 at 11:01 am

It says at the start of your mortgage ,,,IT CAN GO UP OR DOWN ,,,ONLY BORROW ON THAT RISK,,,,so no you can't fund a bad situation its a hard one but it's life

    Doom and Gloom

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
(The seventh day is the LORD’s day. His rest. We are on our own. Genesis 2:2. Revelation 20. Adam is the eighth day man. Adam to Jesus was 4 days. 2 Peter 3:8. Jesus to us are 2 days. 6,000 years passed and we are striding into millennium. Teaching time! )
Zephaniah 1:15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
(Know how to chain the dragon that fabulous serpent? How do we chain a supernatural entity that never been born from a woman’s womb? This is what John 3 and 1 John 4 are talking about. The serpent and his messengers are never going to be able to enter the kingdom of God. This is Jude 6. They are losers and goners. Don’t follow losers! )
Zephaniah 1:16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
(Trumpet is signaling the action. John 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Hireling, you can forget about it. )
Zephaniah 1:17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
(Mark 13:19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
Remember Genesis 19(11)? Two witnesses of Revelation 11. And what’s blood? Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood. 1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
This is a spiritual thing. What’s spirit? Spirit is the intellect of the soul. You yourself. Your being. Your existence. He created you because He likes you. He may not like what you’ve done. But Revelation 4:11 -for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.)
Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
(What’s fire? The language is fire. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

    What’s the last trump?

Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

All completed at this moment. No more mystery. No guessing work. All in the Book. Time to learn the real stuff! )

    Our Shopping Basket With Holes

It shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Deuteronomy 28:17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

The consequence of not following the warnings from upstairs. Inflation. Snake bites. Loan sharks. Ecclesiastes 10:11 Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better. This word bite is a primitive root; to strike with a sting (as a serpent); figuratively to oppress with interest on a loan.

Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
(The seventh day is His rest. We are on our own.)
Amo 5:19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
(Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Traducers infestation.)
Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
(Not until we start to initiate Revelation 20. Know how to lay hold on the dragon, that old serpent? Learn from Moses in Exodus 4:4. What’s tail? Isaiah 9:15. )

The fact some are still suggesting Governments should step in and do something are totally neglecting lessons from the past. We never learn! We either have a free capitalist market or we don't, we can't pretend to have one and then constantly want and expect the other.

Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.

This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.
