Seven people have died after a passenger boat capsized near northern Cyprus.
Search and rescue operations are under way to find 23 people missing, said Ünal Üstel, prime minister of the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
He says 267 people were on board the vessel when it capsized, and 237 have been rescued.
The boat left from the northern Cypriot port of Kyrenia at 11:58 local time (09:58 BST) and officials said it capsized around four nautical miles into its journey to Turkey.

Ukraine’s progress against Russian forces in its southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia has been far more limited than its successes in the north-east.

The government has said it will exercise “extreme caution” over lifting the lockdown. Ministers stress it will be a gradual process, not a single leap to freedom. It comes as the Prime Minister prepares to address the nation, to set out the next phase in tackling the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile major airlines have called for clarity after being told that the government will bring in a 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving in the UK, from any country apart from the Republic of Ireland.
The transport secretary Grant Shapps has called on people to walk and cycle to work, once the lockdown restrictions are eased in England. He said it was a “once-in-a-generation opportunity” to transform the way people get around.
Senior clerics are urging the government to act cautiously before allowing places of worship to reopen. All churches, mosques, synagogues and temples closed their doors almost two months ago.

Unfortunately for Hamilton and his Mercedes team, that's not how things played out.
Former race director Michael Masi's rule-breaking decision led to a green flag finish, allowing Max Verstappen to snatch the win and the title from Hamilton in a jaw-dropping final lap at Yas Marina Circuit.

Australian GP Fans Embrace the Safety Car Finish
Windsor points out that the fans at the Australian GP didn't seem to mind the race concluding behind the Safety Car. In fact, they appeared to revel in the excitement, cheering and applauding the drivers as they completed their final lap. This reaction, he believes, is a testament to how the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix should have ended in 2021, allowing Hamilton to secure his record-breaking championship.
“They finished the race [in Melbourne] behind the Safety Car. Ring any bells?” Windsor said told his followers.
“That’s the finish we should have got in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
“I didn’t see any Australian fans – and they’re pretty vociferous at the best of times – complaining or booing saying, ‘no, we want this race to finish as a proper one-lap race, this is terrible.’
“They were all cheering and clapping – exactly as I said they would have in Abu Dhabi ’21 if they’d finished it behind the Safety Car, as they should have done, and Lewis had been cruising round to win his eighth World title.
“That, to me, was absolute proof – again – of what went wrong in Abu Dhabi and I still feel very hot under the collar about that as well.
“I still think it’s rotten that they completely blew that and Lewis Hamilton was robbed of that eighth title in that one incident.
“Of course, you don’t win or lose a Championship in one race. What I’m talking about is the decision that was taken.
“And nobody cared at all [in Melbourne]. The Australians just loved that Safety Car, they were all cheering.
“I thought actually a couple of the drivers might wave to the crowd, because it wasn’t as if you could overtake, but they didn’t.
“But nonetheless, it was nice.
“They came round slowly and everybody stood and cheered and clapped and it was a great moment – just as it would have been in Abu Dhabi in ’21.”

It was written for the US market. Since this we now have 3 races in the USA. F1 is now owned by the US. F1 has tried to break into America before. Indianapolis 2005 and we all know what happened there. It was done to get more fans for American. Now how big is F1 in America. Look at that S@&t show before the Miami GP this year. To me this was bull. I understand Max “won” the race but even a year later I look back at this and am in disbelief. The FIA allowed three strait things to happen that Max benefited from. To me Lewis is an 8 time world champion. The FIA lookin like the NFL referees.

Lewis had to overtake the other drivers who were a lap or more behind. That alone was unfair. But getting rid of them for Max Verstappen is just a shame. Max Verstappen should not claim the title for himself.
I'm not a Hamilton fan, I'm a Raikkonnen. But with this decision I would be clearly for Hamilton. That was a shame for F1. And just between us, I haven't watched a single race since that day. A real shit show that a single person can affect a race so negatively.
It's either a sport or an event that allows the better paid to win. it cannot be both. I bet the race director got a fat check from RedBull.
For me that was it with F1. I've always loved watching F1, but it was so fucked up that you don't want to watch it anymore. I'll be watching F1 races again if Verstappen's title is revoked and Hamilton gets credit.

To say the last lap was controversial is a understatement, it was borderline corruption. ALL LAPPED CARS SHOULD OVERTAKE THE SAFETY CAR, but for the first time in F1 HISTORY the race director decides only a few "select" lapped cars should overtake the safety car so that we can have a race and put Max right behind Lewis with fresh tyres. I understand the director has the discretion but his discretion wiped out everything Hamilton worked for during the previous 57 laps which can seem unfair. The FIA already had a fragile reputation and somehow they managed to make themselves look even more incompetent.
