Nasa Dart spacecraft successfully smashes into asteroid – BBC News
Nasa has successfully crashed its Dart spacecraft into an asteroid.
The American space agency was testing whether space rocks that might threaten Earth could be nudged out of the way. This is the first experiment of its kind by Nasa.
The asteroid hit was not headed for the Earth, however scientist Dr Elena Adams said “earthlings should sleep better” knowing they had a planetary defence solution.

Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

This is amazing stuff from the guys and girls from NASA. To fly a rocket 🚀 into a tiny piece of rock Dimorphos. This is like firing a missile from the States to hit a certain grain of sand on Zante’s Kalamaki beach. It has to be that exact grain of sand though. Oh and at 14,000 mph.

Great! Scientists and engineers at NASA can cause an inelastic collision with an asteroid more than 6 million miles away but they cannot analyze the straight down inelastic collision of the top of a skyscraper with the larger lower portion only 1000 miles away in 21 years.
Was the distribution of steel down the structure relevant?

NASA's video is fake because of the following reasons (as observed from NASA's original video):
1. The profile of the asteroid on the lower left does not change while DART was behind it, approaching it, and nearing its side. When you pass by a slower moving car you first see its back, then more of its side as you are nearing it, and part of its front as you are almost on its side. That is not observed in the video.
This means the video was taken of a fixed "asteroid" by a FIXED camera slowly zooming in on the asteroid, not by a camera that physically approached the "asteroid."
2. Strange, the transmission of the picture stopped BEFORE DART even touched the surface of the asteroid.
