Great watercolor painting starts with the right tools. In this watercolor tutorial, painter Rosalie Haizlett hosts an Art Supply Showdown, testing kits from three watercolor brands—Angora Watercolors, Greystone Arts, and Schmincke Horadam—and reviewing each to compare vibrancy, layering, blending, and lift. Once you’ve landed on the right kit, try establishing a regular creative routine with Haizlett’s latest Skillshare Original, Urban Nature Journaling: 7 Days of Artistic Prompts: https://skl.sh/3aSumzA

ABOUT ROSALIE HAIZLETT

Rosalie Haizlett is an artist and illustrator who specializes in creating captivating hand-rendered visuals that celebrate the natural world. She uses illustration to honor the places and creatures that often go unnoticed. “My goal is to remind viewers of the amazing intricacy of our planet,” she says. “I hope that after seeing my work, people will spend a few more minutes scouring the forest floor for tiny treasures on their next adventure into the woods.”

Haizlett also creates illustrations that break down educational and scientific information to engage a broader audience, working to make learning more accessible and foster a deeper collective understanding of how the earth works. So far, she’s had the honor of teaching over 31,000 students here on Skillshare—and she can’t wait to paint with you, too.
