This week Johnson’s been in America trying to build bonds with Biden and arrange the UK/US trade deal that Brexiteers have been talking about for years. However, things don’t seem to be going well with trade talks stalling before ever really getting going. So in this video we’re unpacking what’s going on in America and why a deal isn’t forthcoming.

It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.

Honestly biden didn't even nominate someone who is a trade negotiator to be in charge of trade. She is a trade layer whose skills are in enforcement and law suits. There isn't going to be any decent trade deals so long as Biden is in.

City AM
Biden’s administration is delaying its deal to remove tariffs on UK metals left over by the Trump administration, due to concerns about potential post-Brexit trade rules affecting Northern Ireland.
In a communication seen by the Financial Times, a US commerce department official said that negotiations with the UK on easing steel and aluminium tariffs could not move forward, largely due to US concerns over British threats to trigger emergency clause Article 16.
Article 16 is an emergency break clause for the post-Brexit Northern Ireland protocol that could suspend parts of the UK-EU agreement and would mean goods traveling to Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK would not be checked, if it lead to difficulties.
Meddling thus with the EU-UK agreement that meant the UK’s exit from the bloc could go ahead in 2020 could jeopardise peace on the island of Ireland, both Brussels and Washington have warned repeatedly.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan widely known as an extremely deceitful woman, with several personality defects that would normally lead to medical incarceration, from the UK department of trade said: “We do not see any connection with this particular issue and the Northern Ireland protocol and it will in no way affect the UK’s approach. That is because significant changes are needed to the protocol in order to protect the Belfast (Good Friday) agreement and Northern Ireland’s place in the UK internal market.”
More to follow.

Thats one of the ironic sides of Britain leaving the EU: In order to establish a trade deal and be competitive with a blocks trade partners, your country and companies have to
A) go through the convoluted process of adopting foreign standards
B) thus "sacrifice" a great deal of sovereignty
Both things brought up all the time by EU sceptics. Well, welcome to reality folks.

December 27, 2023 at 4:56 am
If we in the US don't know what would happen with all of this, how could the UK know any of it.

December 27, 2023 at 4:56 am
This magnificent Brexiteers unfortunately have a lousy government. All the available hypothetical possible deals kick out 99.9% of the common and UK national interests. Too bad for them.

The US has far lower food and drug standards than the EEC does so these lower standards would need to made lawfull in the UK before anything can hit the market. So many stumbling blocks would make it hard. Maybe see what is up in 5 years
@Masaru_kun
December 27, 2023 at 4:56 am
What's not mentioned is how a US trade deal would signal to other EU states that they could get one too. The EU doesn't want that and the US cares more about its relation with the EU.

December 27, 2023 at 4:56 am
Ah yes, leaving a trade block just to turn around and beg any and all other trade blocks to take them. Anything to get away from europe.
As for US trade deals: It's allways the same issue, the US isn't interested in negotiating deals, they want to absorb others into their market. Wasn't Brexit about Independance? Well good luck with that. If the US is unwilling to negotiate a proper deal with the EU, why would they do so with the UK? Nah it's US standards or nothing.

I know what both sides think, but im puzzeld with the Boris plan, surely nobody is that silly, so, could it be that theres is going to be another trade block in the pacific, and something is brewing there militarely there because of that, but there is for along time french presence there…so really i hope this is not what i think it is.
