Humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens ahead of anticipated Israeli invasion – BBC News
As the Israeli siege of Gaza continues, the area is “on the edge of catastrophe”, a BBC reporter on the ground has said.
In Khan Younis in the south, hundreds of thousands of people have arrived, after Israel warned them to leave the north.
People are sleeping in the streets, running water is limited, and there are queues for bread outside bakeries.
Israel has blocked supplies of food, water, fuel, and electricity since the deadly Hamas attacks on 7 October.
But the Israeli military denies there’s a humanitarian crisis, insisting there are supplies of water and electricity.

Nato is preparing for a new era of warfare, combining cheaper weapons deployed at scale with tougher air defences, one of its most senior commanders has told the BBC’s The Security Brief.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Johnny Stringer said NATO was drawing lessons from Ukraine, combining its sophisticated, expensive weapons with cheaper systems that can be deployed in far greater numbers.

US President Donald Trump has said he thinks “it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president” as he responded to Volodymyr Zelensky’s criticism of the US diesel deal with Russia.
The Ukrainian president warned a new deal to release millions of tonnes of Russian diesel into the US would provide Moscow with money to continue its war against his nation, calling it a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump told reporters outside the White House on Saturday that Zelensky “wants to make problems for the world” by continuing to authorise attacks on Russian refineries.

Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian oil refineries, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, as he accused the US of withdrawing crucial support.
He also accused the US of withdrawing intelligence-sharing on Russian strikes, and said restrictions to Starlink satellite services used by Ukraine’s military were deliberate.
Ukraine’s military relies on US early-warning alerts of incoming Russian aerial attacks to mount air defences, limiting successful strikes, while Starlink internet links are used throughout its war effort to guide drones and protect its skies.
But on Tuesday night, Starlink suddenly and unexpectedly restricted the speed at which drones could fly while still maintaining internet connection. This disrupted some battlefield “missions”, a top Ukrainian official said, and hampered Kyiv’s ability to protect itself from incoming Russian attacks.
Elon Musk, whose Space X company operates Starlink, suggested that the US government may have been behind the restrictions, adding that Starshield, the military-grade sister service to Starlink, is controlled by the US government, and “any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately [the US president]”.
The US government has not commented.

This is not a war, this is a brutal occupation that has been going on for years. Israel and their supporters including the US and UK created hamas by not giving Palestinians any recourse for justice. Peaceful protestors and journalists are gunned down on the streets and America blocks any international court from investigating by blocking funding, israel has committed war crime again and again including annexing land, using human shields, imprisoning childrem, the list goes on without any consequence. All this leads to desperate, angry people because youve given them no choice. But to be honest, the existence of hamas benefits Israel as they get to annex gaza which they have been openly wanting to do, with the excuse of ridding the world of evil terrorists, and they also get the bonus of killing the civilians who are in the way of their land grabbing ambitions while the world watches in the name of "self-defence".

As printed news died out, they lost their loyal subscribers. They faced a new sea of competition online, so the clickbait arms race began.
The business model of the msm is selling your attention to advertisers. You' are the product and they have to keep you watching, reading, clicking, keep you consuming. Their primary goal is not to deliver the most accurate news, it is to attract more attention and make more money.
And it's been proven, that polarizing stories perform best. So no wonder we are more divided than ever, when it's in the medias best interest to manufacture fear & outrage. It is better for them that people are scared and angry, that's just when the goal is money.
When powerful groups plan fake news stories to deliberately pit us against each other and create a certain narrative. Or countries who plan fake stories to influence elections. No wonder fake news is so prevalent when there is so much money and power to be gained from manipulating us all like this. And when these fake stories get debunked, the damage is already done because enough people will of already read & believed the lies and the truth just isnt quite as exciting so it doesn't spread as widely.
Half truths, propaganda and blatennt lies. That is our so called 'trust worthy' mainstream media of today. On any subject they report on.
