It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.

I believe that all people in the UK should be made to have photo ID so that voting and other times you need photo ID .

Simple*** *Adults******just take your passport or driving licence to vote at the election

Are we in America? they are doing the same 💩 over there! It's called voter suppression! They know Gen Z and some communities won't vote for them.

can the poor and vulnerable fly on a commercial flight? buy alcohol? go into a bar? buy cigarettes? recieve welfare? drive a car? Pick up children from school?
Your argument has no legs.
Do you know how elections can be open to fraud? People being able to vote multiple times in the same election. THAT means not EVERY vote matters, because one persons 5 votes cancels 4 peoples votes.
wake up and smell the fraudulent election.

Cant come soon enough, I am sick of my wasted votes, I have worked all my life and paid taxes but my vote gets cancelled out some toerag who has spent their entire life on benefits who has made no contribution to society, also, if you cant be bothered to get some ID sorted then that is down to you.

Whenever this type of stuff is pushed through its usually because the current ruling party is afraid of losing power and dont want to lose that power. Both in the UK and US conservatives want these introduced because they are afraid of the younger generation that is coming out more and more.

@hendrikbijloo
December 21, 2023 at 7:55 am
This is not a crime you can’t know the externt of. If someone turns up and presents a false name and adress a statistical relevant number of fraudsters will be caught because the assurera name is already ticket off and a significant number of people will turn upp after someone else has voted for them!
Assuming that voting in the UK is organised somewhat carefull. I assume that even in the UK voters are ticked of on some sort of voter registery!

December 21, 2023 at 7:55 am
Ugh…
Getting the name and address of someone is not really hard if you have target area.
I am actually shocked they have anything resembling a functional state now. I mean just the facebook hack alone would probably provide enough fully qualified identities for this process, to overtake the country.
@Potatoes85858
December 21, 2023 at 7:55 am
Wait, what! I live in Eastern Europe and we show our ID's to vote — I had no idea that wasn't required in other countries — and I'm more shocked that people in the UK don't have ID's? Over here every single person has an ID.
I don't mean to be rude to anyone, but how do you like "prove" you exist without ID's? I assume driving licenses can work as a substitute, but not everyone drives.

Australia which has been conduction elections by 'secret ballot' longer than anywhere else in the world has never required anything more than being given the same name and address that is on the electoral roll. 'Electoral Fraud' has never been an issue (beyond the joke instruction "vote early, vote often").
Also it is compulsory to be registered to vote and to have your name checked off at the time of an election. (As it is a 'secret ballot', you don't have to make a valid vote and can leave your ballot blank or write a message expressing your opinion of the candidates!) Turnout at Federal and State elections is around 90%.

Britain is going thru its own voter ID bullshit that we in the US have been dealing with for the past 150 years.

Your system sounds pretty easy to trick. If you really think you have no voter fraud with such low integrity, I'd bet the conservatives are right on this one.
