I find fish and chips shops on the whole to be totally disappointing. Chips are always soggy, fish can be good, but more often than not tasteless.
I don't understand it, as a tiny bit of care would produce delicious crisp chips. Sauces are usually dreadful, mushy peas awful.

I live in Blyth Northumberland and Coastlines is a fish and chip restaurant that is amazing. It’s situated right on the seafront. They also do take out.

On a trip from London to outside Plymouth mid September 2021. I went to this fish and chip shop to see what the hype was about.1130am , Small Cod and chips £8 and a bit?. Well there’s small and there’s small. The chips were average, the fish had some flavour but not a lot. The batter was crispy. When I opened the box, first impression was , where is the fish. When I got to my relations house, they stated that the Kingfisher had its moments but was not as good as it was a few years ago. Next time I am down, I think I will give it a pass. Maybe living in the past having been given that award.
