Gordon Visits India – FULL SEASON | Gordon’s Great Escape
Follow Gordon Ramsay as he explores the world of Indian cuisine.
Season 1, Episode 1
Gordon Ramsay travels to India for the first time to experience the stunning diversity of its culinary traditions, immersing himself in all aspects of Indian culture. Gordon’s odyssey begins in the north of India where he’s thrown in at the deep end, cooking in the cramped pantry car of an express train before working for a cantankerous royal chef and making tandoori chicken for a tough crowd of Delhi food critics.
Season 1, Episode 2
Gordon heads off the tourist track into impenetrable north-east India, home of the country’s best-kept culinary secrets. Leaving the 21st-century behind, he immerses himself in the life of a local meat-loving tribe in Nagaland, visits Assam to enter a housewives’ competition, and finally heads off to Calcutta where he sets up shop among the street food stalls hoping to tempt the local foodies into buying his curry.
Season 1, Episode 3
Gordon ends his Indian food adventure by travelling south to Kerala for the ultimate seafood curry. Later, in Tamil Nadu, he tries bullock racing and also faces his biggest culinary nightmare: living in an ashram where the only food on the menu is vegetarian. The last stop finds Gordon in Mumbai where he samples street food in Asia’s largest slum and, later, cooks alongside one of India’s top chefs, Hermant Oberoi.

One things for certain,,,, when adding the ingredients into the caramelized sugar all must be at room temperature or it will be ruined from the start. Second round was very successful, wonderful flavor, fresh, and aromatic. Great recipe that I'll be recreating for both turkey and ham for the holidays.

Had fresh cranberries, used Fiji apples. Was so good, but I feel like I used to much orange. Use a small Christmas orange not a regular sized orange, or even omit it as it tasted fantastic before I added it in.
Totally making this again though. So good.

I got very inspired by this video. I couldn't get fresh cranberries anywhere so I ended up buying frozen ones. I let them thaw out for a few hours till they reached room temperature. I used granny Smith apples as that I was what I had in the house. I also added half a stick of cinnamon to the mixture.
It turned out really well, love it! It's cooling down as I speak and I can't stop tasting it every 15 minutes!
Thank you, dear Gordon, for this beautiful recipe.

My husband made this for Thanksgiving today. Though we could not find the pods(a of the world's most expensive spice) it came out great. We cooked it in a iron skillet. Thanks Chef Ramsay.

Just tried this. It was too rich for my liking. Once I added the port I knew I'd gone overboard and the orange juice just ruined the cranberry flavour. The apple and cranberry and spices thing before that was nice though.

Cranberries are a natural antibiotic. They can help relieve some distress from some nasty bacteria. So called stomach flu (true influenza is a virus) is actually just some unfriendly bacteria causing problems. Getting some nasty bacteria in food is very common and can sometimes happen even if proper precautions are taken.
A glass of cranberry juice works best for this. Follow up with some water since it is also a diuretic. A bit later eat some yogurt to add back some helpful bacteria. You can repeat the entire process a few times over the next day if you like. If symptoms are severe or persist or you have any other reason to worry seek medical help immediately.
While this may help relieve some symptoms it is not a replacement for proper medical attention nor should this be construed as medical advice. Just sharing some information. If you need medical help seek help from a medical professional.
