I love mushrooms and all but you didn’t even give her a bowl! I love that pumpkin. It’s beautiful. But I’m not making your recipe. I’m making Chef John’s recipe cuz he’s a better chef than you and he’s nicer, unless he catches you using pre shredded cheese.

I have been neither a fan, nor a hater of Gordon, but, I give him the utmost respect in the way he treats his children. To hear about how his own father treated him and his mother while growing up, to see him be so great with his daughter is awesome to see, if you can rise from the ashes of an abusive situation and grow from it, it shows how strong of a person he truly is. So many people stay in the cycle of abuse and become part of the same problem for others in their own life. Total respect for Gordon.

I guess this is an old production but I wish every child had a dad like Gordon for Christmas. He strikes me as a man who is himself – a top-quality chef who swears on
occasion but who seems to have a heart as big as a pumpkin.😂 Will try this out, slightly altered, for Halloween tonite. Thanks, Gordon!

It's interesting…the soup looks amazing but if you look at the portion he made for himself, and then look at the soup portion a Hell's Kitchen contestant made in season, they are about the same, and he complained on Hell's Kitchen that "there's certainly enough portions in there to feed a family of six": https://youtu.be/YMRfZHIGhMg?t=114
