Has Donald Trump just rebranded AI? This week, the US President declared that “Artificial Intelligence” sounds too fake and should be renamed “Super Intelligence” instead.

Whether “SI” catches on remains to be seen, but as the world debates what to call the technology, a much bigger question is emerging: who gets to control it?

In this episode of AI Decoded we examine a pivotal week for artificial intelligence as Donald Trump meets Chinese President Xi Jinping, with AI high on the agenda.

Joining the panel are Parmy Olson, Bloomberg technology columnist and author of Supremacy, and Winston Ma, former executive at China Investment Corporation, alongside AI Decoded co-host Priya Lakhani. Together they explore the intensifying AI rivalry between the world’s two superpowers, competing visions for regulating the technology, and whether international cooperation is still possible.

It takes just six seconds for a thief to break into a trader’s van and steal all his tools. It’s a growing problem in the UK, where more than 26,000 instances of tool theft were recorded in 2025. The true number could be even higher.

So what is the impact on the victims? We hear from some of them who say they’re living through “emotional trauma” whilst having to keep their businesses afloat. We also take a look at how police are tackling the problem.

With just days to go until the midterm elections, the Democrats believe they could flip as many as six seats in the Senate. What are the polls telling us with just days to go until the midterm elections, and could results still go in Donald Trump’s favour?

The Democrats have been trying to oust Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins for almost three decades. With the midterms days away, President Donald Trump’s unpopularity could see her finally removed. The Maine election has become a referendum on how voters view Senator Collins. Mainers are deciding if they continue to trust the woman who has climbed the ranks of the Republican party and brought millions of dollars of federal money to their state, or if they find her affiliation with Trump too much. Her contender, progressive Democrat Troy Jackson is a late entrant to the race, after his predecessor Graham Platner suspended his campaign following a series of scandals that included a woman accusing him of sexual assault. A former logger, his campaign has been marred after telling Collins to “shut up” during a debate. Meanwhile, Anthony’s spoken to veteran election analyst Carrie Dann, the Managing Editor of The Cook Political Report. She explains to us where she sees the tightest races, what is mattering most to voters, and who she thinks will win.

Valeriya vs Andrei Makarevich: Two rock and pop stars weigh in on the debate. Russian singers and other celebrities are increasingly being banned from the big stage for disagreeing with the Kremlin’s policy in Ukraine. Artists who support Moscow’s position have been using the stage – and their status – to help pump patriotic feeling. But critics complain that concert halls are being closed to those with opposing views – and some have openly been labelled as traitors. Sarah Rainsford heard from two Russian music stars now thrust onto opposing sides in what is becoming a new, “cultural war”.

Philippine police have obtained a warrant to examine devices seized from the former home of Thomas Markle, father of the Duchess of Sussex.

Earlier this month, it was reported that hundreds of images of child sexual abuse allegedly belonging to Thomas Markle Sr, 82, had been found at the property in the Philippines.

Four boxes of material, including computers, phones, hard drives and old videotapes, were handed to police by Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, last week. However, officers in Cebu needed a court warrant before they could examine the items.

Thomas Markle Sr, who is now in the US, has strongly denied the allegations made by his son, describing them as “sick lies”.
