Donald Trump reveals ‘some threats’ led to him pulling US bombers from RAF Fairford

Published

on

Donald Trump has said that the decision to withdraw all US bomber jets from RAF Fairford was prompted by “some threats.”

Speaking in the last hour the U.S. President said he knows the people who made the threat

The Pentagon says all B-1 bombers, which American forces have used to strike Iran, have now returned to the U.S.

Downing Street, meanwhile, insists the airbase in Gloucestershire is safe after the suspected terror plot.

The airbase in Gloucestershire was the target of a suspected terror attack last month.

Six people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences and have been released on bail.

One official has said new threat details had emerged in the last 24 hours prompting the withdrawal.

Five British nationals, all in their mid-20s, were arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and terrorism. And a UK-Iranian national was detained on suspicion of preparation of terrorists acts. They have all since been bailed.

BREAKING: The King WILL NOT apologise to Commonwealth nations for Britain’s role in the slave trade

Published

By

BREAKING: The King is not expected to offer an official apology or financial reparations to Commonwealth nations for Britain’s role in the historic transatlantic slave trade.

The UK Government’s position is understood not to have changed ahead of His Majesty’s high-profile visit to the Caribbean later this month, including a Realm Visit to the Bahamas, where campaigners have warned him “not to come empty-handed”.

King Charles’s Autumn tour will also visit Guyana before the Queen joins him in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

A Buckingham Palace spokesman has told GB News that the visit will “not shy away from the darkest days” of the past, and has repeatedly said that His Majesty acts solely on Government advice.
