Russia has warned of “consequences” for the UK, after is was confirmed that British-made drones were used by Ukraine to strike Russia.

The Russian embassy in London earlier accused Britain of “deliberately opting for an escalation of the Ukraine crisis”, adding that “the deeper its involvement in the conflict… the higher the price it will pay”. In response, prime minister Andy Burnham has reiterated that the UK ‘supports Ukraine 100%’.

Adam and Alex speak to Ukraine correspondent Dan Johnson about the situation on the ground, and if we know what role the UK drones played. Adam and Alex also discuss the suspension of Tim Montgomerie from Reform UK, reportedly because of comments made about Zia Yusuf.

Plus, technology and AI editor Zoe Kleinman is on the line to discuss the latest Meta trial in the US, where 30 states are taking Meta to court over social media addiction and child privacy claims.

Ukraine attacks Moscow with drone strikes | Global News Podcast

Published

on

Ukraine’s deputy chief of military intelligence, Vadym Skibitsky, tells the BBC that Kyiv must “destroy and disarm” Russian weapons production and logistics systems. He says that includes the online retailer Wildberries, which Kyiv has accused of aiding the Vladimir Putin’s war effort.

The Kremlin has said Ukraine launched over 600 drones towards the Moscow region in a fresh attack on Monday night. Russian air defences destroyed more than 180 of them, but several people were wounded, the officials added. Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities say at 17 people were killed in Russian strikes overnight – most of them in the Kharkiv region.

But the Iranian Foreign Ministry has called the measures ‘economic terrorism’.
