Reed argues that rising youth unemployment the growing struggles facing graduates are proof that “the social contract has been broken,” warning that young people are being left behind despite promises of opportunity prosperity.

David Reed also addresses mounting pressure surrounding the future of the pension triple lock, following calls for the long-standing policy to be scrapped. Stressing the importance of responsibility during uncertain economic times, he insists that political leaders must avoid “cheap political comments” and focus instead on protecting pensioners and maintaining public confidence in the system.

The Shadow Defence Minister also turns his attention to national security, criticising Labour for delays in publishing its long-awaited defence investment plan. Declaring that “it is still nowhere to be seen,” Reed questions the government’s commitment to strengthening Britain’s armed forces at a time of growing international instability and increasing defence concerns.
