US President Donald Trump left Beijing after a two-day summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping saying he had struck “fantastic trade deals, great for both countries”, but few details have emerged on what the two superpowers agreed.
Trade was near the top of the agenda despite recent tensions over the Iran war, and businesses hoped for key deals as well as an extension of the tariff truce that is due to expire in November.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to move back to the UK, the BBC has confirmed.
Prince Harry and Meghan intend to relocate from the US later this month to a private, non-royal residence outside London.
The couple’s children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are enrolled to start at a British school in September.
King Charles was told of the move three days ago. There are no current plans for either of Prince Harry or Meghan to resume their roles as working Royals.
The Sussexes and their children visited King Charles at Highgrove in July, but it is understood the move was not discussed.
Prince William and Princess Catherine have also been informed of the move.
