Decoding what the King said to Congress and how President Trump responded | BBC News
The King and Queen head to New York for the second part of their state visit to the US.
We look at King Charles’ address to congress, what he said… and didn’t say, and if any of it is likely to have a lasting impact on US-UK relations.
Adam is joined in the studio our diplomatic correspondent James Landale, and by Daniela Relph, senior royal correspondent who’s in New York with the King and Queen.
Plus, business editor Simon Jack tells Adam why some big players in the world of finance are worried that another financial crash might be on the horizon.
They point to similarities between now and the lead up to 2008, which they say paired with the ongoing geopolitical turbulence and the AI bubble, could be a recipe for disaster.

US to cut troop levels in Germany by 5,000 | BBC News
The US Defence Department plans to withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany, as a spat between President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz over the war with Iran continues.
The decision comes a day after Trump criticised Merz, who suggested the US had been “humiliated” by Iranian negotiators.
The US has a significant military presence in Germany, with more than 36,000 active duty troops assigned to bases across the country as of last December.
Defence Minister Boris Pistorius told the German Press Agency in Berlin that “the presence of American soldiers in Europe, and particularly in Germany, is in our interest and in the interest of the US”.

Why Ukraine’s robot victory over Russia signals a new era of warfare | The Global Story
For the first time in history a country has apparently won a battle using only robots, without a soldier on the ground put at risk.
Ukraine claims to have recently taken over a Russian position – forcing Russian soldiers to surrender – using robotic systems alone.
President Zelensky has been asking the world for help to fight Russia since the full-scale invasion began in 2022.
But in the years since, Ukraine has revolutionised the technology of warfare with battlefield robots and drones, and now other countries are turning to it for its technology and expertise.
We speak to the journalist and defence expert Mark Urban about how Ukraine went from needy to needed.
New episodes of The Global Story are released daily. If you’re in the UK, listen on BBC Sounds. If you live outside the UK, listen on BBC.com or wherever you get your podcasts.
