President Trump ‘not happy’ with Starmer over Iran | BBC Newscast
President Donald Trump has criticised the UK’s initial response to US-Israeli strikes on Iran, saying ‘this is not Winston Churchill we’re dealing with.’ He says he’s not happy with the UK and tells reporters at the White House “everything’s been knocked out in Iran.”
Today, the UK government confirmed it will deploy HMS Dragon and helicopters with counter-drone capabilities to protect Cyprus after attacks on a British base. It comes as Israel says it has carried out new attacks on Iran’s “leadership compound”, whilst Iran continues to target energy sites in the region.
At the same time, the UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves insists her economic plan is working in an ‘uncertain’ world as the UK growth forecast was lowered for 2026.
Adam Fleming is joined by the BBC’s Political Editor Chris Mason, Deputy Economic Editor Dharshini David and Panorama film-maker Jane Corbin.

Iceland on track to reject EU referendum as counting nears end | BBC News
Iceland has voted against resuming membership talks with the European Union, public broadcaster RUV has reported, with just one constituency’s votes left to count.
It reported that 52.5% of the 188,496 votes so far counted had rejected the government’s proposal, while 47.5% had said yes. Some 9,500 votes separated them.
Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir’s centre-left government promised to hold a referendum by 2027, but brought it forward because of international tensions, including US President Donald Trump’s threats against Greenland.
