❤️ST. VALENTINE’S DAY MASSACRE!🩸 Sugar Ray Robinson vs Jake LaMotta VI | FULL FIGHT | Boxing
Sugar Ray Robinson 121–1–2 and Jake LaMotta 78–14–3 had a historic boxing rivalry, fighting each other on six separate occasions between 1942 and 1951.
The most famous of their encounters was their sixth and final fight, a world middleweight title match later dubbed The Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre due to its brutality.
Both fighters had begun their careers in the 1940s, and their first meeting would take place relatively early into both men’s careers. Going into the first fight, LaMotta had a decent record of 25–4–2, gaining a reputation as a tough fighter (all of his loses up to this point were on points, many were controversial).[5] Robinson on the other hand was a rising star. He already had an undefeated record of 35–0, along with an undefeated 85–0 amateur career.
Both men had very different fighting styles, LaMotta was a classic swarmer, relentlessly pursuing his opponents while constantly throwing barrages of punches to overpower them. Meanwhile, Robinson had a much more fluid style depending upon the opponent, either boxing from the outside with precision or brawling at close quarters. These conflicting styles combined with their respective courage and durability made them naturally tough opponents for each other.

📆Bellew GOES FOR Haye #OnThisDay in 2016
Following the first defence of the WBC Cruiserweight title he won at Goodison Park, ‘The Bomber’ only had one thing on his mind, as he went straight for the ‘Hayemaker’ at ringside.
It didn’t really seem possible at the time but we would indeed see the two in the ring together the following March.

🤦🏻♂️David Haye’s OUTRAGEOUS comment ahead of fight‼️ | #Boxing #Throwback #DavidHaye #Interview
🤦🏻♂️🤣David Haye’s OUTRAGEOUS comment ahead of fight‼️
Ahead of his ‘Battle of Britain’ with former friend-now-foe, Audley Harrison, the heavyweight champion declared at the launch presser that the fight would be “as one-sided as a gang-r**e”.
Even in 2010 it was a pretty extreme comment to come out with but in true Hayemaker-style, rather than apologise, he doubled-down in this Sky News interview🤣
