🥊 HATTON vs CASTILLO | 📺 #TheThrowback | The People’s Champion

🪽 The boxing world was shaken to its core on Sunday. Having witnessed a sensational performance from Terence Crawford in the early hours of the morning everything was put into perspective when the tragic news of the passing of Ricky Hatton, became known.

🇬🇧 The British Icon held world honours at, both, 140 & 147Ibs but as his career progresssed the Manchester-born fighter picked up a title no amount of money or success can buy.
He was The People’s Champion.

🥊 The 2007 fight against Jose Luis Castillo was a perfect rendition of everything his boxing career stood for; the opponent? a high-risk, elite customer who had also pushed Floyd Mayweather all the way over two contests; the venue? Las Vegas, which would become host to the most remarkable tale involving a boxers fanbase and, the finish? a vicious body-shot that – not only put his opponent down for the first time in his career – broke 4 ribs and stopped a modern-great in a way no-one had predicted.

📺 It paved the way for the Super-Fight between himself and Floyd Mayweather and all the stories that went with that famous weekend.

🥊 This is The Throwback 📺
