For a hundred years, the kings of France kept their treasury in the Paris fortress of the Knights Templar. Then, at dawn on Friday 13 October 1307, a king deep in debt had them arrested across France in a single morning. This is the entire story of the Knights Templar, the bankers of the Crusades, from a handful of knights guarding the pilgrim road to a fire on an island in the Seine, told in order in 2 h 44 min.

After the game, he told Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle about the hard feelings from getting cut after signing a big contract. He said Payton didn’t tell him in person, and he found out through his agent.
