Trump repeats that he is ‘not happy’ with Iran as deadline to seek approval for war looms | BBC News
US President Donald Trump said that he is “not satisfied” with proposals from Iran, reports say that Tehran has delivered a new plan to Pakistan which is mediating between the two sides.
President Trump told reporters on Friday afternoon: “We just had a conversation with Iran. Let’s see what happens. But, I would say that I am not happy.”
He said a deal has been hard to reach in part because Iranian leadership was “very confused”, after a number of its top military officials were killed in the war.
Trump said he was briefed with options by US Central Command on Thursday, ranging from “blast the hell out of them and finish them forever” to “make a deal”.
Meanwhile, there’s a stark warning about the impact of the war on global food supplies. The head of a giant fertiliser firm said that that could cost up to 10 billion meals a week.

Starmer: Police must have feared for their lives in Golders Green attack | BBC Radio 4 Today
The terror threat level has been increased to severe as Britain’s top police officer says that the UK faces a pandemic of antisemitism and the government’s adviser on terrorism says we face a national emergency.
This crisis on the streets of Britain is just one of many crises which Sir Keir Starmer, the prime minister, has been facing in recent weeks and months.
The crisis triggered by the war in Iran threatens to tear up his plans and hopes for the economy. The ongoing war in Ukraine continues to cause real problems for British businesses and British households.
Nick Robinson has been speaking to Sir Keir Starmer for BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, about his meeting with police who arrested the suspect in the Golders Green attack.
He criticises comments about the arrest from Green Party leader Zack Polanski. Mr Polanski has now apologised for “sharing a tweet in haste,” adding that he should not have commented on police actions via social media.

Inside London Zoo’s new wildlife hospital | BBC News
London Zoo is marking the 200th anniversary of the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) – the conservation charity that owns and operates the zoo – with plans for a new state‑of‑the‑art wildlife health centre, funded by a £20m bequest from a mystery donor. The facility would allow visitors to observe animal medical procedures up close, including post-mortems.
BBC News’ Justin Rowlatt was given behind‑the‑scenes access to the zoo’s existing animal hospital to see what the new centre could mean for conservation, research and public engagement. The plans have also prompted debate about animal welfare and the role of modern zoos.
