Russian minister Roman Starovoit sacked by Putin found dead | BBC News
Former Russian transport minister Roman Starovoit has been found dead, apparently with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Russia’s Investigative Committee has said.
He was dismissed earlier on Monday by President Vladimir Putin.
No reason for Starovoit’s dismissal was given and deputy transport minister Andrei Nikitin was announced as his replacement shortly after.
The Investigative Committee said it was working to establish the circumstances of the incident.

Iran will be ‘blown off the face of the Earth’ if it attacks US vessels, says Trump | BBC News
The US “should be wary of being dragged back into a quagmire”, the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned, as US President Donald Trump’s plan to free ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz threatens the US-Iran ceasefire.
Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Monday that Iran would be “blown off the face of the Earth” if the country attacks US vessels during “Project Freedom”.
But Iran insists that it controls the strait and on Monday fired missiles and drones at military and commercial ships, according to the US.
South Korea and the UAE reported damage to commercial ships, while a reported Iranian attack caused a fire at a UAE oil depot.
Around 2,000 ships are estimated to be stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.
