One of South Africa’s leading job platforms, PNet, reports that vacancies advertised on its site increased by more than 4% month-on-month, while recruiter searches of candidate databases rose by 6%.

Despite the uptick, searches remain down 28% compared to a year ago, reflecting persistent weakness in the labour market. PNet warns that high inflation, fuel prices and electricity costs could further weigh on economic growth and job creation.
