Britons have to “fight back” against “woke” efforts by UK public bodies trying to “erase” Easter, a Tory frontbencher has said.

Andrew Rosindell, MP for Romford, also said he wanted to see the union flag flown from every school and public building, with assemblies required to sing the National Anthem to promote British culture.

He said: “There is a sort of like attitude now that every other culture, every other religion can be celebrated. But we’ve got to be a bit embarrassed about our own. And I just think that we have to reverse this. There has to be a fight back.”

Iain Duncan-Smith also joined Christopher Hope to discuss the growing threat of China and the larger ramifications of the Government taking control of British steel.
