Keir Starmer told to scrap Net Zero NOW – Climate author rips into Labour’s ‘INSANE’ energy policy
A best-selling climate change author has told GB News that Labour must scrap its Net Zero energy policy and open up new oil and gas fields in the North Sea.
Ezra Levant, author of Ethical Oil, argues that oil and gas production in Western democracies, such as the UK and Norway, is far more morally sound than importing energy from regimes with poor human rights records.
Speaking to GB News, Levant made the case for expanding fossil fuel production in Britain rather than relying on foreign imports.
Levant explained, “The UK brings in its gas from Qatar. That’s a theocratic dictatorship.”
He argued that many countries producing oil and gas are riddled with corruption, human rights abuses, and environmental destruction.
He points out that the UK, the US, Canada, and Norway all have stringent regulations that ensure workers’ rights, environmental protections, and fair wages.
In the video, he says: “Energy produced in the UK North Sea is the ‘fair-trade coffee’ of the world’s oil and gas industry. So what does Keir Starmer and Ed Miliband want? Ethical oil and gas made at home, under our Western liberal standards? Or to bring it in from Qatar and avert your eyes?”
