France and Britain are caught up in disagreements over who needs to do what to stop any more people dying on small boats crossing between the two countries.

27 people were killed in the English Channel on Wednesday, hoping to migrate to the UK.

Even after the tragedy, people continue to attempt the dangerous journey in unsafe dinghies.

All support acts on Ed Sheeran’s US tour have quit after the rapper Macklemore was dropped from the line-up.

He had been opening on the tour, but was let go after saying “Free Palestine” at two concerts.

Sheeran said he wouldn’t be drawn into a public debate over Gaza.

Up to 3 million people in Hong Kong are to be granted new rights to live and work in the UK. The decision follows China’s imposition of a new security law which makes it a crime to undermine Beijing’s authority.

Boris Johnson denounced the legislation as a “clear and serious breach” of the 1985 Sino-British joint declaration, which set out how certain freedoms would be protected for 50 years after China took over sovereignty of Hong Kong in 1997.

The US has admitted, for the first time, that it deployed a space weapon in Earth’s orbit.

It said the weapon was necessary to safeguard US forces against hostile enemy action, but didn’t elaborate on the weapon’s capabilities or when it was put into orbit.
